Lee Yi Shyan (Chinese :李奕贤; pinyin :Lǐ Yìxián; born 9 March 1962) is a Singaporean politician. In 2020, Lee retired and did not stand in the 2020 Singaporean general election. [1]
A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he served as Member of Parliament (MP) for East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC) for Kampong Chai Chee from May 2006 to June 2020.
Lee joined OUE Limited as an Executive Advisor to the Chairman’s office in January 2016. He was also appointed as Deputy Chairman of OUE Hospitality Trust & Chairman of OUE (USA) in 2016. Mr Lee was appointed Chairman of Intercontinental Exchange in Nov 2016.
Lee is also the Chairman of Business China . Business China is a non-profit organization inaugurated in 2007 by Singapore’s Founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew as a business and social link bridging Singapore and China.
Lee worked at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) from 1987 to 1991. He then joined the Economic Development Board, and was based in Washington DC and Chicago from 1993 to 1997, thereafter in Suzhou, China, from 1997 to 1998. In 2000, Lee was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Productivity and Standards Board. The following year, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of International Enterprise Singapore.
Lee was elected to Parliament as a Member of Parliament (MP) for East Coast GRC in the 2006 general election. Following the election, he was made a Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. From 2009 to 2011, he took on the additional portfolio of Minister of State at the Ministry of Manpower.
At the 2011 general election, Lee was re-elected as an MP for East Coast GRC. He remained a Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry after the election, and also became a Minister of State at the Ministry of National Development.
As the Minister of State for Manpower from 2009 to 2011, Lee oversaw and spearheaded the research and developmental efforts of the National Productivity Taskforce, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Trade and Industry . He was also a member of the National Productivity and Continuing Education Council.
As Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Lee co-chaired the Singapore-Jiangsu Co-operation Council and the Singapore-Shandong Business Council. He is a member of the China-Singapore Joint Committee for Bilateral Co-operation, the Joint Ministerial Committee of the Tianjin Eco-City and the Guangzhou Knowledge City Steering Committee. He has also been the Co-Chairman of the Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum and a member of the Qatar-Singapore High Level Joint Committee.
Lee was the Minister-in-charge of Entrepreneurship from 2006 to 2011, during which time he chaired the Action Community for Entrepreneurship. [2]
As Minister of State for National Development, Lee oversees urban planning, city development and town council issues. He also spearheads Singapore's collaboration with China in the Tianjin Eco-City project, [3] and chairs the Quality Service Advisory Council of public services.
In addition, Lee led the grounds-up effort for the “Cool Ideas for Better HDB Living” initiative. The initiative aims to solve daily inconveniences faced by HDB residents and improve the HDB living environment, through ideas contributed by members of the public.
On 31 July 2012, Lee was promoted to Senior Minister of State. [4]
In October 2015, Lee stepped down from his ministerial post, after suffering from a mini stroke in May 2015. [5]
In 2020, Lee retired and did not stand in the 2020 Singaporean general election. [6]
Lee was educated in Maris Stella High School and Hwa Chong Junior College, before going on to the National University of Singapore where he completed a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering in 1986.
Lee completed an executive management programme at Harvard Business School in 1997, and a management programme at Tsinghua University in 2001.
Lee is married and has two children. He is an avid badminton player and was the President of the Singapore Badminton Association.[ citation needed ]

Ng Eng Hen is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as the Minister for Defence since 2011. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Toa Payoh Central ward of Bishan–Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2001. He was also previously Minister for Manpower (2004–2006) and Minister for Education (2008–2011).
Lim Swee Say is a retired Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was a Member of Parliament representing the Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) of Tanjong Pagar (1997–2001), Holland–Bukit Panjang (2001–2006) Holland–Bukit Timah (2006–2011) and East Coast (2011–2020) at different points in time throughout his political career. He held positions in the Cabinet from 2000 to 2018, including Minister for the Environment (2000–2004), Second Minister for National Development (2004–2005), Minister in the Prime Minister's Office (2004–2015), and Minister for Manpower (2015–2018). He was also the secretary-general of the National Trades Union Congress from 2005 to 2015.
Tharman Shanmugaratnam is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as Senior Minister since 2019 and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies since 2015. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Taman Jurong ward of Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2001. He was previously Deputy Prime Minister (2011–2019), Minister for Education (2003–2008), Minister for Finance (2007–2015) and Minister for Manpower (2011–2012). He has also been the Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore since 1 May 2011, and Deputy Chairman of GIC and chairman of GIC's Investment Strategies Committee. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore, he chairs the National Jobs Council to oversee the large-scale growth of jobs and training opportunities for workers affected by the pandemic.

A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was a Member of Parliament representing the Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) of Tanjong Pagar (1991–1997) and West Coast (1997–2020). He also held positions in the Cabinet from 1994 to 2018, including Minister for National Development (1994–1999), Minister for Health (1999–2003), Minister in the Prime Minister's Office (2003–2004), and Minister for Trade and Industry (2004–2018).
Tampines Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the eastern region of Singapore. The East Coast Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency in the eastern area of Singapore. The areas of the Group Representation Constituency consists of locations such as East Coast Park, Bedok, Changi, Simei, Siglap, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Chai Chee, Changi Airport. The GRC also covers a large portion of Singapore's eastern territorial waters. The five divisions are Bedok, Siglap, Fengshan, Changi-Simei and Kampong Chai Chee. Gan Kim Yong is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as Minister for Trade and Industry since 2021. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Chua Chu Kang ward of Chua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2011. Within the PAP, he is the Chairman of the party's Central Executive Committee. Gan was previously the Minister for Manpower (2008–2011) and Minister for Health (2011–2021). He is also a co-chair of the Multi-Ministerial Committee set up by the government in January 2020 to manage the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore.
Teo Ser Luck is a former Singaporean politician. Teo stepped down as Mayor on 26 May 2017 when his term ended and also relinquished his appointment as Minister of State on 30 June 2017 as he had planned to return to the private sector. He remained as the MP for his constituency until 2020 when he did not stand for the 2020 Singaporean general election.

Ang Hin Kee is a Singaporean former politician and businessman. On 30 June 2020, he did not run for the 2020 Singaporean general election, with an update from his GRC team that he would be retiring.
General elections were held in Singapore on Friday, 10 July 2020 to elect 93 members to the Parliament of Singapore across 31 constituencies. Parliament was dissolved and the general election called by President Halimah Yacob on 23 June, on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
