Leisure Village West is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) [6] located within Manchester Township, in Ocean County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Until the 2000 census, the CDP had been part of the Leisure Village West-Pine Lake Park CDP, which was split for the 2010 enumeration into separate CDPs for Leisure Village West and Pine Lake Park. [7] [8] [9] As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 3,493. [10] Leisure Village West is one of several active adult communities bearing similar names. Leisure Village and Leisure Village East are the other two communities nearby.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of 1.222 square miles (3.164 km2), including 1.210 square miles (3.133 km2) of land and 0.012 square miles (0.031 km2) of water (0.98%). [11] [12]

The 2010 United States census counted 3,493 people, 2,347 households, and 979 families in the CDP. The population density was 2,887.4 per square mile (1,114.8/km2). There were 2,665 housing units at an average density of 2,203.0 per square mile (850.6/km2). The racial makeup was 97.05% (3,390) White, 1.60% (56) Black or African American, 0.06% (2) Native American, 0.74% (26) Asian, 0.03% (1) Pacific Islander, 0.20% (7) from other races, and 0.31% (11) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.86% (65) of the population. [10]
Of the 2,347 households, 0.1% had children under the age of 18; 36.3% were married couples living together; 4.2% had a female householder with no husband present and 58.3% were non-families. Of all households, 54.5% were made up of individuals and 47.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.49 and the average family size was 2.07. 0.2% of the population were under the age of 18, 0.6% from 18 to 24, 2.1% from 25 to 44, 17.1% from 45 to 64, and 80.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 76.3 years.
