The Kintner House Hotel is a historic bed & breakfast, in the Corydon Historic District in Corydon, Indiana. The present building was built in 1873, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Italianate style brick building. The original Kintner House, two blocks away, was where John Hunt Morgan learned that Robert E. Lee lost at the Battle of Gettysburg. The Kintner House remained a hotel until 1920 and was used as offices until 1986. It was extensively restored and opened as a bed and breakfast in 1987.
Nester House, also known as the Family Grocerie, Union Hotel, and Riverplace, is a historic hotel located at Troy, Perry County, Indiana. It was built about 1863, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, sandstone block building, with a late 1870s or mid 1880s rear addition. It features a two tiered, full facade porch. Also on the property is a contributing one story, rectangular brick building that is believed to have been a bathhouse for the hotel. The building housed a hotel that served salesmen and other river travelers of late-19th and early-20th century. It ceased to be used as a hotel in the 1930s.
Hotel LaFontaine is a historic hotel building located at Huntington, Huntington County, Indiana. It was built in 1925, and consists of a six-story central pavilion with five-story flanking wings. It is of steel frame and hollow-tile construction and sheathed in brick. The building is in the Colonial Revival style. The lobby is designed to resemble a Spanish courtyard and the basement houses an Egyptian inspired swimming pool that opened in 1927. The hotel is named for Francis La Fontaine. It housed a hotel until 1974.
Frank Wheeler Hotel, also known as the Brown-Wheeler House, is a historic hotel building located at Freetown in Pershing Township, Jackson County, Indiana. It was built in 1890, and is a modest two-story, Queen Anne style frame building. The building features asymmetrical massing, multiple gables, and a large porch with turned and decorative woodwork. Also on the property are the contributing shed and privy. Built as a private dwelling, it housed a hotel from 1905 to 1938.
Waldron–Beck House and Carriage House is a historic home and carriage house located at Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. The house was built in 1877, and is a two-story, irregularly shaped Italianate style brick dwelling, with a rear service wing. It sits on a stone foundation and has a multi-hipped roof with bracketed cornice. It features a three-sided, two-story projecting bay. The carriage house is a two-story, three bay brick building. It has a hipped roof with cupola and a bracketed cornice.
Enterprise Hotel, also known as Gasthaus Alt Heidelberg, is a historic hotel building located at Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. It was built in 1895, and is a three-story, five bay, rectangular, Italianate style brick building, with rear additions. It measures 42 feet wide and 32 feet deep. It is historically significant as a European style tavern / inn.
Mars Theatre is a historic theatre building at Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. It was built in 1921, and is a four-story, rectangular, Georgian Revival style brick building, with limestone ornamentation and terra cotta panels. It measures 69 feet, 4 inches, wide and 141 feet, 4 inches deep. It was originally built as a vaudeville theater and sat 1,205 patrons. The building houses the Denis H. Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity House, also known as Maltese Manor, is a historic fraternity house located at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. It was built in 1920, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, rectangular, Tudor Revival style brick and stone building. It has a truncated hipped roof, parapeted tower, and platform porch extending across the front facade. A one-story kitchen addition was built in 1940, and a three-story addition in 1963. The building was remodeled in 1995, after a fire on the second and third floors. It has housed the Indiana Gamma Omicron chapter of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity since its construction.
Farmers Institute is a historic school building on a small campus in Shadeland, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. It was built in 1851, and expanded to its present two stories in 1864–1865. It is a two-story, rectangular, frame building with modest Greek Revival style design elements. It housed a school from its construction until 1874, and again from 1882 to 1889, during which it also housed a public library. Since then, it has exclusively housed the Farmers Institute Friends Church, a Quaker meetinghouse.
Leland Hotel, also known as the Leland Motor Inn, is a historic hotel building located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1928, and is a seven-story, "U"-shaped, Mission Revival style reinforced concrete building sheathed in light brown brick dwelling. The building was modernized in the mid-1960s and removed or covered many of the original details. It is the tallest building in Richmond.
North Manchester Historic District is a national historic district located at North Manchester, Wabash County, Indiana. It encompasses 159 contributing buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential sections of North Manchester. It developed between about 1870 and 1938, and includes representative examples of Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Lentz House, Noftzger-Adams House, and North Manchester Public Library. Other notable buildings include the John Lavey House (1874), Horace Winton House, Agricultural Block (1886), Moose Lodge (1886), North Manchester City Hall, Masonic Hall (1907), Zion Lutheran Church (1882), and North Manchester Post Office (1935).
Julian–Clark House, also known as the Julian Mansion, is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1873, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a low-pitched hipped roof with bracketed eaves and a full-width front porch. It features a two-story projecting bay and paired arched windows on the second story. From 1945 to 1973, the building housed Huff's Sanitarium.
Michigan Road Toll House is a historic toll house located on the Michigan Road at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built about 1850, as a simple one-story frame building. It was raised to two stories in 1886. The building operated as a toll house from about 1866 to 1892. The building was also used as a post office, notary public office, and general store.
Marott Hotel is a historic residential hotel building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1926, and consists of two 11-story, reinforced concrete structures faced in red brick with ornamental terra cotta and glazed tile trim in the Georgian Revival style. The two towers are connected by a one-story structure that contained the lobby, event halls, gym, and indoor pool.
Sheffield Inn, also known as the Sheffield Apartments, is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1927, and is a two-story, "I"-shaped Tudor Revival style masonry building. It features a multi-gabled slate roof with 2½-story projecting gabled pavilion, decorative chimney, banks of leaded glass windows, and decorative half-timbering. The building was originally designed as a residential hotel and remodeled in 1971. It is located immediately next to the Manchester Apartments.
Lombard Building is a historic commercial building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1893, and is a six-story, rectangular, Renaissance Revival style masonry, iron, and timber-framed building. The two center bays are subtly bowed on the upper stories. It is located between the Marott's Shoes Building and former Hotel Washington.
Hotel Washington, also known as the Washington Tower, is a historic hotel building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1912, and is a 17-story, rectangular, Beaux-Arts style steel frame and masonry building. It is three bays wide and consists of a three-story, limestone clad base, large Chicago style window openings on the fifth to 13th floors, and arched window openings on the 17th floor. It is located next to the Lombard Building. The building has housed a hotel, apartments, and offices.
Heier's Hotel is a historic hotel building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1915–1916, and is a three-story, five bay, brick building. It features two tall brick piers and terra cotta cornice-like projecting elements. The building houses commercial storefronts on the first floor.
Spink Arms Hotel, also known as the Lionel Artis Center, is a historic hotel building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1919, and consists of two eight-story, brick towers linked by a one-story connector. It is in the Tudor Revival style and features twin four-story oriel windows on each tower and a crenellated parapet. Behind the building is a four-story parking garage constructed in 1922.
Jackson Buildings, also known as the Standard Grocery/Capital Furnace, were two historic commercial buildings located at Indianapolis, Indiana. One was a four-story brick building built about 1882–83, and the other, a five-story building built about 1923. The older building exhibited Italianate and Beaux-Arts style design elements. The buildings housed a variety of commercial enterprises, including the Standard Grocery Company. The two buildings were demolished and replaced by a bank building.
