Behak Mekan is a small town located in the Sargodha District of Punjab, Pakistan. It was established during the British Empire era. The town is situated 16.5 kilometres (10.3 mi) from the city of Sargodha and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) away from Dhreema. Due to its strategic location, the British Royal Air Force constructed an airstrip near "godhay wala" which became later significant to the Pakistan Air Force after the independence of Pakistan.

The trip takes approximately 33 hours to cover a published distance of 1,594 kilometres (990 mi), travelling along a stretch of the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line, Khanewal–Wazirabad Branch Line, Shorkot–Lalamusa Branch Line and Taxila–Khunjerab Railway Line.

Khushhal Khan Khattak Express is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Karachi and Peshawar. The trip takes approximately 34 hours and 15 minutes to cover a published distance of 1,512 kilometres (940 mi), traveling along a stretch of the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line and Kotri–Attock Railway Line. The train named after Khushhal Khan Khattak, a Pashtun nationalist and poet, warrior, scholar, and chief of the Khattak tribe. Khushhal Khan Khattak Express was suspended in March 2020 due to Covid-19, but efforts are being made to run this train again. The train has not been restored till 2023, the route of this train is unique and it was the only train which touches Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Fareed Express is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Karachi and Lahore. The trip takes approximately 26 hours and 45 minutes to cover a published distance of 1,250 kilometres (780 mi), traveling along a stretch of the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line and Lodhran–Raiwind Branch Line. The train named after Baba Fareed Shakar Ganj, a famous Sufi saint and Punjabi poet who lived in Pakpattan between 1173–1266.

Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line is one of four main railway lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line starts from Kiamari station in the province of Sindh and ends at Peshawar Cantonment Station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The railway track is dual between Keamari and Shahdara Bagh, Chaklala and Golra Sharif. The total length of the line is 1,687 kilometers (1,048 mi), with 173 railway stations in between. The line serves as the country's main passenger and freight line with 75% of the country's cargo and passenger traffic.

Kotri–Attock Railway Line is one of five main railway lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins from Kotri Junction and ends at Attock City Junction. The total length of this railway line is 1,427 kilometers (887 mi). There are 74 operational railway stations from Kotri Junction to Attock City Junction on this line. Currently, no train is running on this railways line between Kot Adu Junction and Jacoababad Junction.

Hyderabad–Khokhrapar Branch Line is one of several branch lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins from Hyderabad Junction station and ends at Zero Point station. Currently, the line is active till Khokhropar The total length of this railway line is 211 kilometers (131 mi). There are 26 railway stations from Kotri Junction to Zero Point.

Khanewal–Wazirabad Branch Line is one of several branch lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins at Khanewal Junction station and ends at Wazirabad Junction station. There are 30 railway stations between these two junctions, across a total length of 325 kilometers (202 mi) of railway line. The line is important as it connects Faisalabad with other parts of the country by rail. The Khanewal–Wazirabad Branch Line was originally named the Wazirabad–Multan Railway under the North Western State Railway. A survey for a railway line began in 1892. The Wazirabad–Lyallpur began construction in 1894 and opened in 1896. The Lyallpur–Multan section began construction the following year and opened in 1899.

Shorkot–Lalamusa Branch Line is one of several branch lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins from Shorkot Cantonment Junction station and ends at Lalamusa Junction station. The total length of this railway line is 325 kilometers (202 mi). There are 34 railway stations from Shorkot Junction to Akhtar Karnana last station before Lalamusa Junction. Currently, the sole train operating on this branch line is the Hazara Express, which travels from Karachi to Havelian via the Shorkot-Lalamusa branch line.

Shorkot–Sheikhupura Branch Line is one of several branch lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins from Shorkot Cantonment Junction station and ends at Qila Sheikhupura Junction. The total length of this railway line is 218 kilometers (135 mi). There are 12 railway stations from Shorkot Junction to Qila Sheikhupura Junction.

Mehr Express is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Multan and Rawalpindi. The trip takes approximately 14 hours, 30 minutes to cover a published distance of 559 kilometres (347 mi), traveling along a stretch of the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line, Sher Shah–Kot Addu Branch Line and Kotri–Attock Railway Line.
