<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mahendra of Nepal</span> King of Nepal from 1955 to 1972

Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, was the ninth King of Nepal from 13 March 1955 until his death in 1972, which was due to heart attack as told in an interview by his personal physician Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey. Following the 1960 coup d'état, he established the partyless Panchayat system which governed the country for 28 years until the introduction of multiparty democracy in 1990. During his reign, Nepal experienced a period of industrial, political and economic change which opened it to the rest of the world for the first time after the 104-year-long reign of the Rana rulers, who kept the country under an isolationist policy, came to an end in 1951.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tamang language</span> Sino-Tibetan dialect cluster

Tamang is a term used to collectively refer to a dialect cluster spoken mainly in Nepal, Sikkim, West Bengal (Darjeeling) and North-Eastern India. It comprises Eastern Tamang, Northwestern Tamang, Southwestern Tamang, Eastern Gorkha Tamang, and Western Tamang. Lexical similarity between Eastern Tamang and other Tamang languages varies between 81% and 63%. For comparison, lexical similarity between Spanish and Portuguese, is estimated at 89%.

Siddharthanagar, formerly and colloquially still called Bhairahawa, is a municipality and the administrative headquarter of Rupandehi District in Lumbini Province of Nepal, 265 km (165 mi) west of Nepal's capital Kathmandu. It is the closest city to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, which is located 25 km (16 mi) to the west. The city borders the Indian city of Sonauli in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is the governing body of football in Nepal. It is responsible for the men's and women's national teams as well as club competitions. The organisation was founded in 1951 as the All Nepal Football Association and became affiliated with FIFA in 1972. The current President of ANFA is Pankaj Bikram Nembang. Its current headquarters is located in the ANFA House in ANFA Complex, Satdobato.

Mahendranagar, officially known as Bhimdattanagar, is a municipality in Kanchanpur District of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. The city and the municipality were named Mahendranagar in honour of the late King Mahendra of Nepal. After becoming a republic in 2008, the Mahendranagar municipality name was changed to Bhimdatta municipality in honour of the revolutionary farmer leader Bhimdatta Panta. It is surrounded by Bedkot Municipality in the east, Dadeldhura District in the north, Shuklaphanta National Park in the south and Uttarakhand, India in the west.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ghorahi</span> Sub-Metropolitan City in Lumbini, Nepal

Ghorahi is the largest sub-metropolitan city by area and population of Lumbini Province. The city lies in Lumbini Province in the Mid-Western part of Nepal. It is the largest city of Dang Deukhuri District of southwest Nepal. Located in the Inner Terai region, it lies 413 kilometres (257 mi) south-west of Nepal's capital Kathmandu and is one of the Counter Magnets being developed as an alternative centre of growth to help ease the migration and population explosion in the Kathmandu metropolitan area. It is the largest city of the Rapti Zone and is surrounded by the Sivalik Hills to the south and Mahabharata Range to the north.

Kamalamai is a municipality in Sindhuli District, in the Bagmati Province of central south Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 39,413 people in 9,304 households. The city is located in the Sindhuli Valley of central south Nepal. The historic symbol of the valley, Sindhuli Gadhi fort, is at the peak of a hill of the Mahabharata range. The city is in the plain valley made by the Kamla River. Kamalamai Municipality is the largest municipality of Nepal according to area.

Siraha is the headquarters and municipality of Siraha District, a part of Madhesh Province, Nepal. Siraha had a population of 28,442 according to the census of 2011. and a population of 82,531 as of 2015. The current population of Siraha municipality as of census 2022, is 96,543. It has a male population of 47,306 and female population of 49,237. The present mayor of Siraha Municipality is Dr. Nabin Kumar Yadav and Deputy Mayor is Babita Kumari Sah. Both assumed office on 25 May 2022. His predecessor mayor was Asheswor Yadav and the deputy mayor was Dr. Namita Yadav. Both assumed office on 25 September 2017 and their last working day was on 24 May 2022. The town is at 80 metres (260 ft) altitude, 29 kilometres (18 mi) ESE of Janakpur.

Tulsipur is a Sub-Metropolitan City in Dang District of Lumbini Province of Nepal. It is the district's second most populous city after Ghorahi. It was established in 1992 by merging the former village development committees Tulsipur and Amritpur. In 2014, it was expanded and the village development committees of Urahari, Tarigaun, Pawannagar and Halwar. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 141,528 people living in 31,243 households.

Mirchaiya formerly known as Ramnagar Mirchaiya is a municipality in Siraha District in the Madhesh Province of south-eastern Nepal. The municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging the existing Rampur Birta, Malhaniyakhori, Radhopur, Ramnagar Mirchaiya, Phulbariya, Sitapur PraDa and Maheshpur Gamharia Village Development Committees. At the time of the 2017 municipality records, it had a population of approx. 52,000 people living in approx 8,496 individual households. This is one of the main business markets for Katari and the southern part of the Siraha district. Raw material produced here includes padday, miazem, and sugar cane.

Meghauli is a small city and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Bagmati Province of central Nepal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kawasoti</span> Kawasoti municipality in Gandaki Province, Nepal

Kawasoti (Nepali: कावासोती) is a municipality in Nawalpur District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is 31 km (19 mi) west of Bharatpur and 85 km (53 mi) east of Butwal, approximately on the middle of Mahendra Highway. The Naryani River flows south of it, and the Mahabharat Range is north of it.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Arunkhola</span> Town in Nepal

Arunkhola is a town situated on the bank of the river Arun before as Naya Belhani VDC Ward No. 8 of Nawalparasi, but now as Madhyabindu Municipality, ward no. 10, Nawalpur District of Western Nepal. It is also known as Aarungkhola, Aarunkhola(Nepali: आरुणखोला) and Bhagra. It is an emerging business hub of the district.

Bardaghat नेपाली: बर्दघाट is a Municipality in Nawalparasi District in Lumbini Province, Nepal. It is situated in the lap of the Chure range. This municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging existing Makar and Panchanagar VDCs. Again during the local election, the neighbouring VDC Dawanne devi and some parts of Dhurkot, Jamuniya, and Rupauliya were merged. It has a population of 76,703 with an area of 162.05 km2. The population growth rate is 2.77%/per year. It has a LITERACY RATE of 82.05%. It is an emerging town of Nawalparasi District that is developing rapidly with tourist areas.

Buddhabhumi is a Municipality in Kapilvastu District in the Lumbini Province of southern Nepal. It is located 308 km west of Kathmandu, 47 km west of Butwal and 206 km east of Nepalgung.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">SmartCell</span> Telecommunication company of Nepal

Smart or STPL is a private mobile network service provider of Nepal and it was established on 1 July 2008. It has been extending its network with an aim of having coverage of the entire of Nepal. On 28 October 2017 the company launched its 4G services in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Pokhara, and is planning to launch 4G in other parts of Nepal soon.

Kanti Higher Secondary School is a government - run community school in Butwal, Nepal. The school is one of few community schools providing courses in English language. The school was established in 2010 B.S. The school partially rents the space for the commercial business to raise fund to run the school and provide scholarships to the students.
