Tamaulipas, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Tamaulipas, is a state in Mexico; one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, comprise the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. It is divided into 43 municipalities.
Ciudad Victoria is the seat of the Municipality of Victoria, and the capital of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located in the northeast of Mexico at the foot of the Sierra Madre Oriental. It borders the municipality of Güémez to the north, Llera to the south, Casas Municipality to the east, and the municipality of Jaumave to the west. The city is located 246 km (153 mi) from Monterrey and 319 km (198 mi) from the US - Mexico border. Ciudad Victoria is named after the first president of Mexico, Guadalupe Victoria.
Tampico is a city and port in the southeastern part of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located on the north bank of the Pánuco River, about 10 kilometers (6 mi) inland from the Gulf of Mexico, and directly north of the state of Veracruz. Tampico is the fifth-largest city in Tamaulipas, with a population of 314,418 in the city proper and 929,174 in the metropolitan area.
Estadio Corregidora is a stadium in Querétaro City, Mexico. Named for Mexican War of Independence heroine Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, it has a capacity of 33,162 and is located on the outskirts of the city of Querétaro, 211 kilometres (131 mi) north of Mexico City. The venue is used mostly for football games as the home of Querétaro FC. It is also used for concerts, hosting internationally known pop stars like Rod Stewart, Miguel Bosé, and Shakira, among others.
The Estadio Tamaulipas is a football stadium in the southern portion of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, serving as the home of C.D.S. Tampico Madero It sits across two municipalities, Tampico and Ciudad Madero, and has a capacity of 19,667. The center line of the stadium sits on the municipal boundary.
Estadio Francisco I. Madero is a stadium in Saltillo, Mexico. It is primarily used for baseball and is the home field of the Saraperos de Saltillo. It holds 11,000 people, and features a video screen measuring 14 meters high by 22 meters wide. The stadium is named after Coahuila native Francisco I. Madero who served as President of Mexico from 1911 to 1913.
Club Jaiba Brava, commonly named Tampico Madero, is a Mexican professional football club based in Tampico and Ciudad Madero that plays in the Liga de Expansión MX.
Querétaro Fútbol Club, also called Gallos Blancos de Querétaro, is a Mexican professional football club based in Querétaro City. Querétaro plays in the Liga MX, the top tier of Mexican football league system. Their colors are blue, black, and white and the team mascot is a rooster. Although the club has not had significant success in Mexico, the team has featured stars including Ronaldinho and Antonio Valencia.
Miramar is a city near the southeastern tip of the state of Tamaulipas in Mexico. It is the largest city in the municipality of Altamira and third largest of the Tampico Metropolitan Area. It has 161,820 inhabitants according to the official 2020 INEGI count, making it the largest locality in the municipality. It is the seventh-largest community in the state, having passed Río Bravo since the previous census.

Club de Fútbol Potros de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México was a Mexican football team. They were nicknamed Potros (Broncos). Their uniform color was white and green, wearing a white and green vertical stripe shirt for their home games. The club was founded in 1970 when the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico register its football squad in to the Tercera División de México under the name of Moscos de la UAEM. The club played in the Ascenso MX between 2016 and 2019. In December 2019, the team dissolved their Ascenso MX squad and only maintained the Liga TDP team until the end of the season, after this, the second squad was dissolved.
The Tampico metropolitan area is the third most populous metropolitan area in the state of Tamaulipas, in the country of Mexico. Its in-state metropolitan area of Tamaulipas counts with the municipalities of Tampico, Ciudad Madero, Altamira. On the other hand, the out-of-state municipalities include Pueblo Viejo and Pánuco, from the state of Veracruz.
The Atlético Reynosa Fútbol Club, is a Mexican football club based in the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The club was founded on 2012 as Reynosa Fútbol Club, in 2017 was rebranded. Between 2012 and 2020 the team played at Serie A of Liga Premier. From 2020, the team went into hiatus due to financial difficulties and stopped participating in Mexican football indefinitely, but without being dissolved. In 2022 the team's license was sold to C.D.S. Tampico Madero, so any possibility of the return of Atlético Reynosa was eliminated.
The 1972–73 Segunda División was the 24th season of the Mexican Segunda División. The season started on 26 November 1972 and concluded on 5 July 1973. It was won by Ciudad Madero.
The 2021–22 Liga de Expansión MX season is the second professional season of the second-tier football division in Mexico. The season is divided into two championships - the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura — each in an identical format and each contested by the same seventeen teams. The Apertura tournament will begin in the summer of 2021. The Clausura tournament will begin in January 2022.
The 2022–23 Serie A de México season is part of the third-tier football league of Mexico. The tournament began on 26 August 2022 and will finish in May 2023.
The 1994–95 Tampico Madero-TM Gallos Blancos season is the 4th campaign in existence and first season in the top flight division of Mexican football. The campaign is best remembered as the last season played in First Division.
