Live Science is a science news website. It publishes stories in a wide variety of topics such as Space, Animals, Health, Archaeology, Human behavior and Planet Earth. It also has a Forum section for open discussions and a Reference section with links to other sites. Their mission is "make the wonders of science and the world around us relevant, useful and interesting to everyone by informing and entertaining our readers ". [1]

History

Live Science was originally launched in 2004, but was subsequently shut down and re-launched in 2007. It was acquired by TechMediaNetwork, later called Purch, in 2009. [2] Purch consumer brands (including Live Science) were acquired by Future in 2018. [3] [4]

Reception

Live Science has been rated GREEN for its credibility and trustworthiness by NewsGuard, a global service that rates news sources for their journalistic standards. [5]

Live Science is a member of the Independent Press Standards Organisation which regulates the UK's magazine and newspaper industry. [6]

Awards

2007: Winner, Award for Specialty Site Journalism (large organization) from the Online Journalism Awards. [7]

After being acquired by the causal game company iWin in 2016, Gamezebo was redesigned and expanded its coverage to PC games. It is based in Walnut Creek, California.

Tableau Software is an American interactive data visualization software company focused on business intelligence. It was founded in 2003 in Mountain View, California, and is currently headquartered in Seattle, Washington. In 2019 the company was acquired by Salesforce for $15.7 billion. At the time, this was the largest acquisition by Salesforce since its foundation. It was later surpassed by Salesforce's acquisition of Slack.

<i>Sonicsgate</i> 2009 American film

Sonicsgate: Requiem for a Team is a 2009 American documentary film chronicling the history of the Seattle SuperSonics. The SuperSonics were a professional basketball franchise based in Seattle, Washington, that was a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Sonics played from 1967 until 2008, but relocated from Seattle to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and were renamed as the Thunder. 

Sharecare is an Atlanta, Georgia-based health and wellness company that provides consumers with personalized health-related information, programs, and resources. It provides personalized information to the site's users based on their responses to the RealAge Test, the company's health risk assessment tool, and offers a clinical decision support tool, AskMD. TheJournal.ie is an online newspaper in Ireland. It was a mixture of original and aggregated content, before moving to entirely original content. The website was founded in early 2010.

QuizUp is a discontinued mobile game originally developed and published by Iceland-based Plain Vanilla Games and later operated by Glu Mobile. The game was a mobile trivia app similar to the game Trivial Pursuit. QuizUp was a multiplayer game where one user competes against another in seven rounds of timed multiple-choice questions of various topics. The Privacy Sandbox is an initiative led by Google to create web standards for websites to access user information without compromising privacy. Its core purpose is to facilitate online advertising without the use of third-party cookies. The initiative includes Federated Learning of Cohorts as well as other proposed technologies, many of which have bird-themed names. It was announced in August 2019.
