Inside United (known as Manchester United from 1992 to 2000, and as United from 2000 to 2006) is the official magazine of the English football club Manchester United. Issues are published every four weeks, resulting in 13 issues per year. The editor is Ian McLeish, who became editor-in-chief for the February 2006 issue, after the title was purchased by the Haymarket Network from Future plc. The magazine is written in conjunction with the club's official match programme – United Review – and the club website – ManUtd.com. [1]
Former contributors to the magazine include ex-United manager Alex Ferguson and the club's Academy director, Brian McClair, who both wrote monthly columns. Also included in the magazine are reports on the club's matches in the previous month, as well as information about the reserve and youth teams. Features often include interviews with players, both past and present, and examinations of the club's history.
Manchester United Football Club is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, that competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. Nicknamed "the Red Devils", the club was founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, changed its name to Manchester United in 1902 and moved to its current stadium, Old Trafford, in 1910.
Paul Scholes is an English football coach and former player, as well as a co-owner of Salford City. He spent his entire professional playing career with Manchester United, for whom he scored over 150 goals in more than 700 appearances between 1993 and 2013. His first managerial position was at Oldham Athletic, for 31 days in February and March 2019.
Park Ji-sung is a South Korean former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He currently serves as a club ambassador for Manchester United, for whom he played from 2005 to 2012. Born in the South Korean capital Seoul, Park is the most successful Asian player in history, having won 19 trophies in his career. He is the first Asian footballer to have won the UEFA Champions League, to play in a UEFA Champions League final, as well as the first Asian to have won the FIFA Club World Cup. Park was able to play anywhere across the midfield and was noted for his exceptional fitness level, discipline, work ethic and off-the-ball movement. His remarkable endurance levels and pace earned him the nickname "Three-Lungs" Park.
Old Trafford is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United. With a capacity of 74,879, it is the largest club football stadium in the United Kingdom, and the eleventh-largest in Europe. It is about 0.5 miles (800 m) from Old Trafford Cricket Ground and the adjacent tram stop.
Owen Lee Hargreaves is a former footballer and current television pundit for BT Sport. Hargreaves was known as a hard-working and "solid defensive midfielder who worked tirelessly to win the ball" and provide his teammates with possession. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Hargreaves played with Calgary Foothills as a youth before beginning his professional football career in Germany with Bayern Munich. After seven years with the Munich side – during which time he won four German league titles and the 2000–01 UEFA Champions League – Hargreaves signed for Manchester United in 2007, winning the Premier League and UEFA Champions League in his first season. However, his time at Manchester United was plagued with injuries and he was allowed to leave the club at the end of his contract in June 2011. Hargreaves posted YouTube videos in a bid to convince potential suitors of his fitness, and in August 2011, Manchester City offered a one-year contract to Hargreaves, which he accepted.
Alan Smith is an English footballer who last played for Notts County. He has also represented the England national team, winning 19 caps. Smith was known for his aggressive on pitch mentality and high pressing style of football.
Mikaël Samy Silvestre is a French former footballer who played as a defender.
Quinton Fortune is a South African former professional footballer who played as both a midfielder and a defender. His career began in Europe and after stints with Tottenham Hotspur, Mallorca and Atlético Madrid among others he settled in with Manchester United in 1999 and spent seven years there. He continued playing through 2010. Fortune was also part of the 1998 and 2002 South African World Cup teams.
Michael Carrick is an English football coach and former player. He is currently working as a first-team coach at Manchester United. He is one of the most decorated English footballers of all time and is best known for his 12-year playing career with Manchester United, whom he also captained. Carrick was a central midfielder, but he was used as an emergency centre-back under Alex Ferguson, David Moyes and Louis van Gaal. Distinctive features of his play included his inventive distribution of the ball along with his passing and crossing abilities.
Nemanja Vidić is a Serbian retired professional footballer. He most notably played for Manchester United from 2006 to 2014, and was part of the Serbia national team from 2002 to 2011.
Luis Antonio Valencia Mosquera, known as Antonio Valencia, is an Ecuadorian professional footballer who plays for L.D.U. Quito and the Ecuador national team. Primarily a right-back, he had previously played as a right winger for a large duration of his career.
Manchester United Football Club Under-23s is the most senior of Manchester United's youth teams and the club's former reserve team. They play in the Premier League 2, the highest tier of the Professional Development League. The team is effectively Manchester United's second-string side, but is limited to three outfield players and one goalkeeper over the age of 23 per game following the introduction of new regulations from the 2016–17 season, an increase from the age of 21 which was introduced in 2012–13.
Craig George Cathcart is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Watford and the Northern Ireland national team. He has also captained his country's under-21 side.
The Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, previously known as the MUFC Members Player of the Year (1988–95), is an award presented to the Manchester United fans' player of the season. It is named after former Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby, who managed the club in two spells, from 1945 to 1969 and from 1970 to 1971. The award was renamed in his honour in 1996, following his death in 1994, and a new trophy was commissioned – a scaled-down replica of the statue of Busby at the east end of Old Trafford.
Rafael Pereira da Silva, commonly known as Rafael or Rafael da Silva, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Ligue 1 club Lyon. He normally plays as a right-back, but can also play on the right side of midfield. He and his twin brother, Fábio, began their careers with Fluminense before joining Manchester United in January 2007. After eight years in England, Rafael joined Lyon in August 2015 for a fee of up to £2.5 million.

Scott Francis McTominay is a professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Premier League club Manchester United and the Scotland national team.
The 2018–19 season was Manchester United's 27th season in the Premier League and their 44th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. The season was the first since 2005–06 without club captain Michael Carrick, who retired after the 2017–18 season and joined the club's coaching staff. Assistant manager Rui Faria left the club at the conclusion of that season, with Carrick and Kieran McKenna replacing him as the club's first-team coaches.
The 2019–20 season is Manchester United's 28th season in the Premier League and their 45th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. The club is participating in the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League, and reached the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.
