Love 2 is the fifth studio album by French electronic music duo Air, released on 30 September 2009 in Japan and in the first week of October in the rest of the world by Virgin Records. It is the duo's first production recorded at their own recording facility, Studio Atlas, in northern Paris. [14] As of February 2012, Love 2 had sold 24,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. [15]

Release

On 6 July 2009, a viral single, "Do the Joy", was made available as a free download to existing Air newsletter subscribers. The album's official lead single, "Sing Sang Sung", was released digitally on 25 August 2009. [14] An album mashup was made available to UK newsletter subscribers on 14 September 2009. The album was streamed worldwide for an interactive "listening party" on 28 September 2009, starting at 12:00 CET, for exactly 24 hours. Track names were not shown, but the album was played in order. Fans were also given the opportunity to comment on the album via Facebook, and their comments were displayed adjacent to the media player, as well as an updating Google Maps view of where listeners were.

"Talkie-walkie" means walkie-talkie in French.

The album was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the 2001 Brit Awards. The French edition of Rolling Stone magazine placed The Virgin Suicides at number 49 on their list of the 100 essential French rock albums. In 2014, NME placed the album at number 11 on their "61 of the Greatest Film Soundtracks Ever" list. In 2019, Pitchfork placed the album at number four on their "Top 50 Best Movie Scores of All Time" list.

Heligoland is the fifth studio album by English electronic music duo Massive Attack, released on 8 February 2010 by Virgin Records. Named after a German archipelago, it was their first studio album in seven years, following 100th Window (2003). It's the first album to feature Daddy G since Mezzanine (1998), therefore making it the first album by the band to be recorded as a duo. Pocket Symphony is the fourth studio album by French electronic music duo Air, released on 5 March 2007 by Virgin Records. It features collaborations with Jarvis Cocker and Neil Hannon. Pocket Symphony incorporates some of the Japanese instruments Godin had recently learned to play from an Okinawan master musician: the koto and the three-string, banjo-like shamisen. However, a press release claims that "conventional instruments continue to play a great role" in the duo's music. The album features art by Xavier Veilhan.
