Marian Engineering College is an Engineering college in Trivandrum, India. The college was established in 2001, and is affiliated to University of Kerala and Kerala Technological University. The college is a pioneer institute for engineering studies in Kerala among the Self Financing colleges. The institute stretches over a 40-acre (160,000 m2) campus in the neighbourhood of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Technopark, and Kinfra Apparel Park.

    Education in Kerala

    The importance and antiquity of education in Kerala is underscored by the state's ranking as among the most literate in the country. The educational transformation of Kerala was triggered by efforts of the Church Mission Society missionaries, who were the pioneers that promoted mass education in Kerala, in the early decades of the 19th century. The local dynastic precursors of modern-day Kerala—primarily the Travancore Royal Family, the Nair Service Society, Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam and Muslim Educational Society (MES)—also made significant contributions to the progress on education in Kerala. Local schools were known by the general word kalaris, some of which taught martial arts,but other village schools run by Ezhuthachans or Asians were for imparting general education. Christian missionaries and British rule brought the modern school education system to Kerala.

    Maharajas Technological Institute

    Maharaja's Technological Institute known as MTI is a Government-run technical education institute situated in Thrissur City of Kerala, India. Founded in 1946 by Maharaja of Cochin to impart technical education for the people of the Kingdom of Cochin, it is the oldest technical institute and polytechnic in Kerala.     Government Engineering College, Trivandrum

    The Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram, was founded by the Government of Kerala, India, in August 1999. It is regarded as one of the top institutions in the state for technical education. The institution is located in Barton Hill, which is two kilometres from the city centre in Trivandrum. The institute has five major departments: Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. All these departments have obtained an NBA accreditation.     Sree Narayana Polytechnic College (Malayalam: ശ്രീ നാരായണ പോളിടെക് നിക്ക് is located in Kottiyam near Kollam, Kerala in south India. It is named after the Saint and social reformer "Sree Narayana Guru".
