Mark Mangini (born 1956) is an American sound editor with over 125 film credits. He has won two Academy Awards, in 2021 for Best Sound for Dune and in 2015 for Best Sound Editing along with David White for their work on Mad Max: Fury Road . [1]

Mangini is renowned for recording and editing a new roar track for Leo the Lion, the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) lion mascot (ironically, tiger sounds were used for the effect). [2]

In April 2017, Mangini partnered with Pro Sound Effects to release The Odyssey Collection, developed from his personal sound library built throughout his career with partner Richard L. Anderson. [3] [4]

Mangini is of Italian descent. [5] He married actress Annette McCarthy in 1984 and they have two sons. They separated some time later. [6] [7] [8] He also has a son, Rio, from his marriage to Ann Whatu.

Tom Fleischman is an American sound engineer and re-recording mixer. He is the son of film editor Dede Allen, and documentary producer, director, and writer Stephen Fleischman. He has worked on over 170 films since 1978. He won an Academy Award in 2011 in the category Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for Hugo and has received four other Oscar nominations for Reds (1982), The Silence of the Lambs (1992), Gangs of New York (2003), and The Aviator (2004).

Chris Jenkins is an American sound engineer. He has won three Academy Awards for Best Sound and was nominated for two others in the same category. He has worked on more than 150 films since 1979.

Gregg Rudloff was an American re-recording mixer. He won three Academy Awards for Best Sound and was nominated for four more in the same category. He worked on 150 films from 1983 onwards. His father, Tex Rudloff, was a sound engineer who was nominated for an Academy Award in 1978. On January 6, 2019, Rudloff died aged 63 from a reported suicide.

George Watters II is an American retired sound editor with more than 80 feature film credits. He has won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing twice, for The Hunt for Red October (1990) and for Pearl Harbor (2001).

Mark Stoeckinger is an American sound editor. He has over 80 film credits. In addition to 3 Oscar nominations, he has been nominated for the Motion Picture Sound Editors a total of 10 times, winning once with Gladiator.

Grant Major is an art director from New Zealand who is most famous for his work on The Lord of the Rings films. He won an Oscar for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Ron Bartlett is a sound mixer who was nominated at the 85th Academy Awards for the film Life of Pi. He was nominated in the category of Best Sound Mixing, he shared his nomination with Doug Hemphill and Drew Kunin. He was nominated again in the same category at the 90th Academy Awards for his work in Blade Runner 2049, along with Doug Hemphill and Mac Ruth.

David White is an Australian sound editor best known for his role as the sound designer of the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road. White won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing for the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road with fellow sound editor Mark Mangini.

Mac Ruth is an American sound mixer. He has worked on numerous films, including Underworld (2003), The Cave (2005), Eragon (2006), Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013). Hercules (2014), The Martian (2015), Spy (2015), among others.
