Robert Creigh Deeds is an American lawyer and politician serving as a member of the Senate of Virginia representing the 25th district since 2001. Previously,he was the Democratic nominee for Attorney General of Virginia in 2005 and Governor of Virginia in 2009. He was defeated in both of those races by Republican Bob McDonnell. Deeds lost by just 323 votes in 2005,but was defeated by a wide margin of over 17 percentage points in 2009. He was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 1992 to 2001.

After deciding not to seek re-election to the House of Delegates in 2017,he decided to run for the Stafford County Board of Supervisors again,and was elected by a margin of 12 votes.
John Randall "Randy" Minchew is an American politician and lawyer. A Republican,he was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2011,and re-elected for two subsequent terms. He represented the 10th district,made up of parts of Clarke,Frederick and Loudoun counties in the northern part of the state.

Mitchell Carmichael is an American politician. He is a former Republican member of the West Virginia Senate representing District 4 from 2012 until his defeat in 2020. Prior to his service in the Senate,Carmichael served in the West Virginia House of Delegates representing District 12 from 2000 through 2012. Carmichael was also a candidate for Governor of West Virginia in the 2011 West Virginia gubernatorial special election. As President of the state Senate from January 2017 to January 2021,he held the title Lieutenant Governor of West Virginia. After his defeat in 2020,Governor Jim Justice appointed Carmichael as West Virginia's economic development director.
Craig Philip Blair is an American politician and a Republican member of the West Virginia Senate representing District 15 since January 12,2013. Blair served non-consecutively in the West Virginia Legislature from January 2003 until January 2011 in the West Virginia House of Delegates in the District 52 seat. Blair is also the father of former WV Delegate Saira Blair.

Oregon voters chose electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote,pitting the Republican Party's nominee,businessman Donald Trump,and running mate Indiana Governor Mike Pence against Democratic Party nominee,former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,and her running mate Virginia Senator Tim Kaine. Oregon has seven electoral votes in the Electoral College.

The Republican Party held a 66–34 majority in the House of Delegates before the election but lost 15 seats to the Democratic Party,resulting in the Republicans holding a 50–49 advantage.

Before her election as state delegate,Delaney served on numerous boards and commissions in Virginia. She served on the West Melbourne,Florida city council as a Republican before moving to Northern Virginia.
