Mohammed Abul-Salam Onuka was a Nigerian soldier who served as Military Administrator of Edo State between December 1993 and September 1994. He took over from the civilian governor,John Odigie Oyegun,at the start of the military administration of General Sani Abacha. [1]
Colonel Onuka made an attempt to develop the tourism potential of the scenic area of Ososo,but the effort was short-lived because of the sudden termination of the Abacha administration. [2] From Okene in Kogi State and first cousin to the present Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello (APC).
Kogi State is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria,bordered to the west by the states of Ekiti and Kwara,to the north by the Federal Capital Territory,to the northeast by Nasarawa State,to the northwest by Niger State,to the southwest by the Edo and Ondo states,to the southeast by the states of Anambra and Enugu,and to the east by Benue State. It is the only state in Nigeria to border ten other states. Named for the Hausa word for river (Kogi). Kogi State was formed from parts of Benue State,Niger State,and Kwara State on 27 August 1991. The state is nicknamed the "Confluence State" due to the fact that the confluence of the River Niger and the River Benue occurs next to its capital,Lokoja.

Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia was a Nigerian army officer and politician. Colonel (retired) Bzigu Lassa Afakirya was the Military Administrator of Kogi State,Nigeria from August 1996 to August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. When he assumed office he dissolved and reconstituted the Local Government Service Commission. Following the return to democracy,as a former military administrator he was required to retire from the army. In October 2005,he was awarded fellowship of the Kogi State Polytechnic.
