John Ewerekumoh Yeri was a Nigerian soldier who served as Governor of Bendel State between 1990 and 1991,and then continued as Governor of Edo State until January 1992 after Bendel State was split into Edo State and Delta State. [1] He was military governor during the administration of General Ibrahim Babangida,and handed over to an elected civilian governor in January 1992. [2]
In a speech in December 1991,he said that the Military Administration held traditional rulers in high esteem,and expected them to enlighten their subjects about Government policies and programs at the grass root level. [3] During his tenure,the administration made some investment in improving the roads of the state. [4]
Benin City is the capital and largest city of Edo State,southern Nigeria. It is the fourth-largest city in Nigeria according to the 2006 census,after Lagos,Kano,and Ibadan.

Jonathan Tunde Ogbeha is a Nigerian politician and retired brigadier general who served as the administrator of Akwa Ibom State and then of Bendel State during the military rule of General Ibrahim Babangida (1985–1993). After the return to democracy in 1999,he was elected senator for the Kogi West constituency of Kogi State from May 1999 to May 2007. A biography on Ogbeha titled "Jonathan Tunde Ogbeha:A Noble Path" was written by Innocent Nzeke Waniko,a journalist,and presented publicly on 1 September 2017. The book chronicles the early life and comprehensively captures the life and career of Ogbeha.
Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia was a Nigerian army officer and politician. He was military Governor (1967–1975) of the Mid-West State,later renamed Bendel State,part of which in turn later became Edo State. After the return to democracy in 1999,he became a powerbroker in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In September 2009,Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state and others attended his 77th birthday celebration in Benin. He is noted as one of the founding fathers of the very prestigious University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH)

The Delta State University,Abraka - popularly known as DELSU - is a State government-owned university in Nigeria with the main campus located at Abraka,Delta State and its sub-campus at Oleh. The Oleh campus was established with the 1995 Amended Edict. The university is a multiple-campus university having two campuses within a distance of about 52 km apart. Currently,with a student population of about 22,000,the university offers a range of programmes from the full-time certificate,diploma and degree programmes to part-time evening and weekend degree programmes. It is one of over twenty-five state-owned universities which are overseen and accredited by the National Universities Commission.
Air Commodore (retired) Luke Chijiuba Ochulor served as the first Military Administrator of Delta State,Nigeria,appointed in August 1991 after the state was formed from part of Bendel State during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He handed over to the elected civilian governor Felix Ibru in January 1992 at the start of the Nigerian Third Republic.
Erediauwa was the 39th Oba of Benin,traditional ruler of the Edo people in Benin City,Edo State,Nigeria. Formerly known as Prince Solomon Akenzua,Oba Erediauwa's full title was His Royal Majesty Omo n'Oba n'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa I. He was succeeded by Ewuare II.
Luke Erede Ejohwomu,Adakaji was the Ovie of Abraka Kingdom in Nigeria. He hailed from the Ovowodo/Umeghe ruling house. He was born on 1 June 1936 to the family of Erede Ejohwomu and Aliatete Ejohwomu. Under his uncle,Patrick Ejohwomu,he commenced his primary school education in 1944 at the Native Authority (N.A.) School,Amai. In 1950,he moved to the N.A. School,Otu-Jeremi;in 1951,he transferred to the Catholic School at Okpara Water Side where he obtained the standard six certificate. In 1952,he gained admission into St. Thomas College,Ibusa from where he obtained Teacher Grade Two Certificate in 1956.
