Old Fig Garden (formerly, Fig Garden)[2] is a census-designated place[4] in Fresno County, California.[2] It lies at an elevation of 312 feet (95 m).[2] The city of Fresno, through annexations, has entirely circled Fig Garden.[2] Old Fig Garden's population was 5,477 at the 2020 census.
The census reported that 99.4% of the population lived in households, 0.6% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized.[7]
There were 2,160 households, out of which 28.2% included children under the age of 18, 47.5% were married-couple households, 7.5% were cohabiting couple households, 26.1% had a female householder with no partner present, and 18.9% had a male householder with no partner present. 24.7% of households were one person, and 13.2% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.52.[7] There were 1,483 families (68.7% of all households).[8]
The age distribution was 21.2% under the age of 18, 7.4% aged 18 to 24, 24.6% aged 25 to 44, 25.6% aged 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65years of age or older. The median age was 42.4years. For every 100 females, there were 97.7 males.[7]
There were 2,292 housing units at an average density of 1,374.9 unitsper square mile (530.9 units/km2), of which 2,160 (94.2%) were occupied. Of these, 69.9% were owner-occupied, and 30.1% were occupied by renters.[7]
