The Chakri dynasty is the current reigning dynasty of the Kingdom of Thailand. The head of the house is the king, who is head of state. The family has ruled Thailand since the founding of the Rattanakosin Era and the city of Bangkok in 1782; following the end of Taksin Thonburi's reign, when the capital of Siam shifted to Bangkok. The royal house was founded by Rama I, an Ayutthaya military leader of Sino-Mon descent.
Sirikit is a member of the Thai royal family who was Queen of Thailand from 28 April 1950 to 13 October 2016 as the wife of King Bhumibol. She is the mother of King Vajiralongkorn.
The precedence of Thai royalty follows a system of ranks known as thanandon, which are accompanied by royal titles.
Sri Savarindira, also known as Savang Vadhana, was the royal wives, agnatic half-sister and one of the four principal chief consort of King Chulalongkorn, but she was not the Rajini or supreme queen consort. After her first grandson's accession to power in 1935, she became known as Somdetch Phra Phan Vassa Ayika Chao. All her children died before her and she lived to see her grandsons Ananda Mahidol and Bhumibol Adulyadej take the throne.
Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda was the only child of the King Vajiravudh of Thailand. She was a first cousin of King Bhumibol Adulyadej as well as a third cousin to Prince Bhisadej Rajani on her paternal side and third cousin of King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia on her maternal side.
Valaya Alongkorn, Princess of Phetchaburi or Valaya Alongkorn, Princess Aunt, was a princess of Siam, and a member of the Chakri dynasty. She was the daughter of King Chulalongkorn and Savang Vadhana. Her older brother Vajirunhis was the first Crown Prince of Siam. She was also the elder sister of Mahidol Adulyadej, the Prince of Songkla, and the full aunt of kings Ananda Mahidol and Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Princess Suvadhana was the royal consort of King Vajiravudh of Siam. Her original name was Khrueakaeo Abhayavongsa. She was born a commoner; her father was Lord Abhayabhupesa and her mother was Ms. Lek Bunnag.
Prince Nakkhatra Mangala, 2nd Prince of Chanthaburi, was the eldest son of Kitiyakara Voralaksana, 1st Prince of Chanthaburi and Princess Apsarasaman Kitiyakara. He was the father of Queen Sirikit, father in-law of late Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej and maternal grandfather of the current King Vajiralongkorn.

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya is a Thai princess and the only daughter of King Vajiralongkorn by his former consort Sujarinee Vivacharawongse. She is also the only one of their children in the line of succession and to bear royal titles. She has produced works as a fashion designer, and competed in sports as an equestrian and badminton player.
Than Phu Ying Dhasanawalaya Sornsongkram, née Dhasanawalaya Ratanakul Serireongrit, is the only daughter of Galyani Vadhana, Princess of Naradhiwas and niece of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and elder cousin of King Vajiralongkorn.
The royal flags of Thailand are personal royal flags that are usually flown in Thailand, along with the national flag, to honor the King and royal family. Unlike the royal standards displayed only in special ceremonies and in particular locations, the royal flags are seen throughout Thailand. They are not commonly seen outside the country.
Kitiyakara Voralaksana, 1st Prince of Chanthaburi was a Prince of Siam, a member of the Siamese Royal Family. He originated the House of Kitiyakara (ราชสกุลกิติยากร). His descendants use this royal surname. He is the paternal grandfather of Queen Sirikit, consort of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Through Sirikit he is also the maternal great-grandfather of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who has been King of Thailand since 2016.
Dusit Palace is a compound of royal residences in Bangkok, Thailand. Constructed over a large area north of Rattanakosin Island between 1897 and 1901 by King Chulalongkorn. The palace, originally called Wang Suan Dusit or 'Dusit Garden Palace' (วังสวนดุสิต), eventually became the primary place of residence of the King of Thailand, including King Chulalongkorn, King Vajiravudh, King Prajadhipok, King Bhumibol Adulyadej and King Vajiralongkorn. The palace covers an area of over 64,749 square metres (696,950 sq ft) and is dotted between gardens and lawns with 13 different royal residences. Dusit Palace is bordered by Ratchwithi Road in the north, Sri Ayutthaya Road in the south, Ratchasima Road in the west and U-Thong Nai Road on the east.
The Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall or the Ambara Villa is a royal mansion situated inside Bangkok's Dusit Palace. It served as the primary residence of the former King Bhumibol Adulyadej and former Queen Sirikit of Thailand, and was the birthplace of King Vajiralongkorn.
Prince Anusorn Mongkolkarn was a Thai film director and 1996 National Artist of Thailand recipient. He was a grandson of King Chulalongkorn, and also one of the indirect first-degree cousins to Kings Ananda Mahidol and Bhumibol Adulyadej as well as Princesses Galyani Vadhana and Bejaratana, since his father, Prince Yugala Dighambara was one of the paternal half-brothers of King Vajiravudh, King Prajadhipok and Prince Mahidol Adulyadej.
The banknotes of the Thai baht are part of the physical form of the Thai baht, Thailand's currency. The issuance of the baht banknotes is managed by the Bank of Thailand. Throughout its history, the denominations have ranged from 1 baht to 1,000 baht. The circulating banknotes today in Thailand, however, are ranged from 20 baht, 50 baht, 100 baht, 500 baht and 1000 baht. The currently circulating series are 17th, 16th and 15th series. Thai baht banknotes commonly include the portrait or the picture of the sculpture of its kings. The obverses have been designed with the current king's portrait. Whilst, in the reverses, mostly the picture of notable kings and kings with the title "the great". Some reverses feature the King Bhumibol's sayings.
