Orgy of the Damned is the second studio solo album [lower-alpha 1] by British-American musician Slash, released on May 17, 2024, through Gibson. The album is a collaborative blues cover project with a variety of musicians and singers, including Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Chris Robinson, Tash Neal, and Beth Hart.
The album was preceded by the release of two singles; covers of the Howlin' Wolf song "Killing Floor" and the Fleetwood Mac song "Oh Well" were released on March 8 and April 12, 2024, respectively.
Slash's first blues works date back to 1996, when he parted ways with band Guns N' Roses and experimented with the music genre in concert tours with the group Slash's Blues Ball. [1] Three decades later, in 2023, he reunited with two of his former bandmates, Johnny Griparic on bass guitar and Teddy Andreadis on keys, as well as Michael Jermone on drums, to record the instrumentals of the album with producer Mike Clink at East West Studios and Snakepit Studio in Los Angeles. [2] [3]
On March 8, 2024, Slash released a cover of the song "Killing Floor" by Howlin' Wolf, which features vocals by Brian Johnson and harmonica by Steven Tyler. [4] The album, Orgy of the Damned, was announced the same day, which was available to pre-order. [5] In an interview with Rolling Stone , the musician stated: "'Killing Floor' was a song that I've always wanted to do [...] Brian was the only guy I thought of for that song, just because I know Brian's voice, and I know what it sounds like when he sings in a lower register". In a positive review for Blues Rock Review, Meghan Roos dubbed the project as a whole a "fascinating listen", which is able "to explore different blues sounds and styles in accordance with how each of the chosen singers meshes with the material". [7] The reviewer highlighted "Stormy Monday", "Born Under a Bad Sign", and "Living for the City" as standouts. [7] Riff Magazine's Sam Richards wrote that although the songs on the album are "old warhorses that get minimal reworking, there's a reason they're standards". [9] He added that Slash "recognizes this, and most of his guests keep things interesting around him". [9]
Orgy of the Damned debuted at number 98 on the US Billboard 200, including atop the Blues Albums and number 26 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts with 10,500 copies sold in its first week of release. [11]

Slash's Snakepit was an American rock supergroup from Los Angeles, California, formed by Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash in 1994. Though often described as a solo or side project, Slash stated that Snakepit was a band with equal contributions by all members. The first lineup of the band consisted of Slash, two of his Guns N' Roses bandmates—drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Gilby Clarke—as well as Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez and former Jellyfish guitarist Eric Dover on lead vocals.
Led Zeppelin is a boxed set by English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was the first compilation of songs by the band and the selection and remastering of the tracks were supervised by Jimmy Page. Atlantic Records released it on 8 October 1990 on several formats: four compact discs, six vinyl records, or four cassette tapes. A 36-page booklet was also included with the release.
Journeyman is the eleventh solo studio album by Eric Clapton. Heralded as a return to form for Clapton, who had struggled with alcohol addiction and recently found sobriety, the album has a 1980s electronic sound, but it also includes blues songs like "Before You Accuse Me", "Running on Faith", and "Hard Times." "Bad Love" was released as a single, reaching the No. 1 position on the Album Rock Chart in the United States, and being awarded a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1990. "Pretending" had also reached the No. 1 position on the Album Rock Chart the previous year, remaining at the top for five weeks.
Honkin' on Bobo is the fourteenth studio album by American rock band Aerosmith, released on March 30, 2004, by Columbia Records. The album includes 11 covers of blues and blues rock songs from the 1950s and 1960s, with one new song, "The Grind". The album pays tribute to Aerosmith's earliest influences and showcases a rawer sound when compared to their more recent commercial efforts. Honkin' on Bobo was produced by Jack Douglas, who was Aerosmith's producer on a vast majority of their 1970s output.
3 Car Garage: The Indie Recordings '95–'96, also known simply as 3 Car Garage, is a compilation album by American pop rock group Hanson. It consists of material from their MMMBop demo album minus four tracks. There is much confusion that 3 Car Garage contains tracks from both the MMMBop and Boomerang demo albums, when actually, only songs from MMMBop are present. The tracks that never made it from MMMBop to 3 Car Garage are the shorter version of "MMMBop", "Something New", "Incredible", and "Baby ".
This Time Around is the second studio album by American pop rock group Hanson, released in 2000. Although Hanson had several albums in between, This Time Around is their first standard studio release since 1997's Middle of Nowhere. This Time Around did not achieve the commercial success of its predecessor Middle of Nowhere. The album does not feature as many bubblegum pop style tunes as Middle of Nowhere; instead, Hanson opted to focus on a more classic rock sound, or as MTV.com stated, "stadium rock". The album also features numerous ballads, with songs such as "Sure About It" and "A Song to Sing" covering the themes of teenage insecurity and loneliness, much like "Weird" from Middle of Nowhere. Critically, This Time Around received mainly positive reviews. To date, it has sold over one million copies worldwide.
Native Tongue is the fourth studio album by American glam metal band Poison, released in 1993 through Capitol Records. It peaked at #16 on the Billboard 200, #20 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified gold by the RIAA on April 21, 1993. It has also been certified by CAN platinum. This is the only album to feature lead guitarist Richie Kotzen. Kotzen was hired as the band's guitarist following the firing of C.C. DeVille in late 1991. The album features the singles "Stand", "Until You Suffer Some " and "Body Talk".
Hey Stoopid is the twelfth solo studio album by American rock singer Alice Cooper, released on July 2, 1991, by Epic Records. After his smash 1989 hit album Trash, Cooper attempted to continue his success with his follow-up album, which features guest performances from Lance Bulen, Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars. Hey Stoopid was Cooper's last album to feature bassist Hugh McDonald before he joined Bon Jovi in 1994.
Stripped is a live album by the English rock band The Rolling Stones released in November 1995 after the Voodoo Lounge Tour. It contains six live tracks and eight studio recordings. The live tracks were taken from four 1995 performances, at three small venues, and include a cover of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone", which was the first single from the album. The remaining eight tracks were acoustic studio re-recordings of songs from the Stones' previous catalogue, the exception being a cover of Willie Dixon's "Little Baby". The studio performances were recorded "live," i.e., without overdubs.
Still Got the Blues is the eighth solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in March 1990.
