San Pablo District is one of eight districts of the province Canchis in Peru. [1]
The districts of Peru are the third-level country subdivisions of Peru. They are subdivisions of the provinces, which in turn are subdivisions of the larger regions or departments. There are 1,838 districts in total.
Canchis Province is one of thirteen provinces in the Cusco Region in the southern highlands of Peru.
Peru, officially the Republic of Peru, is a country in western South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the west by the Pacific Ocean. Peru is a megadiverse country with habitats ranging from the arid plains of the Pacific coastal region in the west to the peaks of the Andes mountains vertically extending from the north to the southeast of the country to the tropical Amazon Basin rainforest in the east with the Amazon river.
The most important river of the district is the Willkanuta which crosses the district from southeast to northwest. [2]
The Urubamba River or Vilcamayo River is a river in Peru. Upstream it is called Vilcanota River. Within the La Convención Province the naming changes to Urubamba. A partially navigable headwater of the Amazon River, it rises in the Andes to the southeast of Cuzco. It originates on the slopes of Khunurana in the Puno Region, Melgar Province, near the La Raya pass. It flows north-north-west for 724 kilometers before coalescing with the Tambo River to form the Ucayali River.

Anta is a 4,915-metre-high (16,125 ft) mountain in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canchis Province, on the border of the districts of Checacupe and San Pablo. Anta lies near the Chhuyumayu valley, southeast of Jach'a Sirk'i and Wari Sallani.
Inka Pirqa or Inkapirqa is a 5,075-metre-high (16,650 ft) mountain in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canchis Province, on the border of the districts of Combapata and San Pablo.
Wari Sallani is a 5,061-metre-high (16,604 ft) mountain in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canchis Province, on the border of the districts of Checacupe and San Pablo. Wari Sallana lies near the Chhuyumayu valley, southeast of Jach'a Sirk'i.
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (80.72%) learnt to speak in childhood, 19.02% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [4]

It is located in the Cusco Region, Canas Province, Layo District, and in the Canchis Province, Marangani District. Huch'uy K'uchu lies near the La Raya pass northwest of Chimpulla and north of Kunka. It stretches along the Hatun K'uchu valley from west to east whose stream flows to the Willkanuta River.
Yana Ranra is a mountain in the La Raya mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,000 metres (16,404 ft) high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canas Province, Layo District, and in the Canchis Province, Marangani District. Yana Ranra lies near the La Raya pass northwest of Chimpulla and Kunka and southwest of Huch'uy K'uchu. It is situated at the Hatun K'uchu valley whose stream flows to the Willkanuta River.
