Pachatusan mountain in Peru

Pachatusan is a mountain northeast of the city of Cusco in the Andes of Peru, about 4,842 metres (15,886 ft) high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Calca Province, San Salvador District, in the Cusco Province, in the districts San Jerónimo and Saylla, and in the Quispicanchi Province, Oropesa District. It is situated on the western bank of the Vilcanota River, beside the mountain Huaypun in the south-east. Pachatusan lies above the sanctuary of San Salvador named Señor de Huanca.

Machu Kuntur Sinqa mountain in Peru

Machu Kuntur Sinqa or Machu Kuntur Sankha is a mountain in the Cusco Region in Peru, about 4,200 metres (13,780 ft) high. It is situated in the Calca Province, on the border of the districts Pisac and San Salvador. Machu Kuntur Sinqa lies on the right bank of the Willkanuta River, near the archaeological park of Pisac.

Punquchayuq mountain in Peru

P'unquchayuq is a mountain in the Cusco Region in Peru, about 4,400 metres (14,436 ft) high. It is situated in the Calca Province, San Salvador District, and in the Paucartambo Province, Caicay District. P'unquchayuq lies south of Hatun Punta and southeast of Qhiwar.

Qhiwar is a mountain in the Cusco Region in Peru, about 4,400 metres (14,436 ft) high. It is situated in the Calca Province, San Salvador District. Qhiwar lies between Hatun Punta in the east and Wallwa Qhata in the southwest.

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (88.68%) learnt to speak in childhood, 10.99% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [3]
