Shannon Estates is a neighborhood in north Dallas, Texas (USA), and is wholly contained within the Elm Thicket/North Park neighborhood. It is bounded by Inwood Road on the east, Mockingbird Lane on the south, Kenwell Street on the west, and West University Boulevard on the north. It borders Greenway Parks to the east, Elm Thicket/North Park to the north and west, and Highland Place to the south. Within reach are Inwood Village, [1] West Lovers Lane businesses, Lemmon Avenue businesses, as well as easy access via Mockingbird Lane to the Dallas North Tollway.

Its residents reportedly formed a neighborhood association under the name of Shannon Estates Neighborhood Association (SENA). However, the website no longer exists, so it isn't clear whether SENA still exists or not. [2]

In the Spring of 2016, Elm Thicket/North Park, including Shannon Estates, was included in Dallas' Neighborhood Plus Plan. Adopted in 2015, Neighborhood Plus is a citywide neighborhood revitalization plan for the City of Dallas to alleviate poverty, fight blight, attract and retain the middle class, increase homeownership and enhance rental options. Forest Meadow is a suburban residential neighborhood within the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, Texas. The neighborhood is thought of today as being bounded by Greenville Avenue on the west, Whitehurst Drive on the south, Abrams Road on the east, and an alley demarcating the neighborhood from businesses and apartment blocks on Forest Lane to the north. However, the earliest plats identified by the name "Forest Meadows" were east of Abrams Road and some plats were south of Whitehurst Drive. Mockingbird Lane is a road located mainly in central Dallas, Texas. It is one of three main arterial roads in this part of Dallas, and is also a major road through Highland Park.

Cedar Springs Road is a road mainly in Uptown Dallas. The road also connects to Dallas Love Field and provides access to its terminal. It also once was a major thoroughfare through central Dallas and the Turtle Creek area in the early 1900s. Dallas Area Rapid Transit bus route 39 traversed much of the length of this road; however, in 2022, bus route 103 replaced it.
