The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow awarded the album 3 stars and states: "Although there are tributes to Tadd Dameron ('Dameron's Dance') and Duke Ellington ('The Sophisticated Hippie'), the music is recognizably Silver – funky hard bop." [3]
