The Slim River railway station is a Malaysian train station stationed at the north eastern side of and named after the town of Slim River, Muallim District, Perak.

The station is owned by Keretapi Tanah Melayu and provides KTM ETS services. Built in 1903, the original station is among the oldest of the railway stations in Malaysia. In March 2007, as part of the electrified double tracking project between Rawang and Ipoh, it was rebuilt, with the old station building being retained. At one end of this station, there is a freight yard. It was made prior to the Rawang-Ipoh Electrified Double Tracking Project.

Location and locality

The station is located exactly in Slim River town, and is accessible by road either from Federal Route 1 or Route A134 (Besout - Kuala Slim - Slim River).

The station not only serves Slim River and the surrounding areas, but also FELDA Trolak and FELDA Besout settlement areas due to their reasonably near distance between those places and this station, as well as Ulu Bernam estates. Slim River Vocational College and Trolak campus of MARA Junior Science College also located near here.

Sentul Komuter station

The Sentul Komuter station is a Malaysian commuter train station formerly known as Sentul railway station and is located in the east side of and named after Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. Since 2015, the station has been on the Seremban Line of the KTM Komuter train services. For a long time, this station served as the northern terminus of the Sentul-Port Klang route until the line was extended to Batu Caves, when the station continued to be on the Batu Caves-Port Klang Line until the route change in December 2015 to accommodate the Klang Valley Double Tracking upgrade.

Ipoh railway station Malaysian railway station

The Ipoh railway station is a Malaysian train station located at the south-western side of and named after the capital city of Ipoh, Perak. It serves as the main railway terminal for the state under Keretapi Tanah Melayu offering KTM ETS services, as well as handling freight trains. Although there are nine tracks, only four are electrified and three of the electrified tracks are used for the ETS service. The remaining six other tracks are used for freight trains.

Batu Caves Komuter station is a Malaysian commuter railway station formerly known as Batu Caves Railway station at Batu Caves, Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. After redevelopment, the station was reopened in August 2010. The station was from 2010 the northern terminus for the KTM Komuter's Batu Caves–Port Klang Route until December 2015 when the Seremban Line routing was changed to terminate at this station instead of Rawang.

Railway electrification in Malaysia

Railway electrification in Malaysia is a relatively recent development of rail transport in Malaysia. While the first railway in the country dates back to 1885, it was not until 3 August 1995 that the first electrified railway service, KTM Komuter, began operations.

Behrang railway station

KTM ETS Malaysian inter-city rail service

The KTM ETS is an inter-city rail passenger service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) using electric multiple-unit (EMU) trains. The KTM ETS is the second electric train service to be operated by the Malaysian railway company, after the KTM Komuter service, and the second inter-city rail service, after KTM Intercity.

The Lahat railway station is a Malaysian train station on the northeastern side of and named after the town of Lahat, Kinta District, Perak, although prior to the Rawang-Ipoh Electrified Double Tracking project, the station has been converted into a freight yard. People living in Lahat will no longer get passenger services. The nearest passenger station is the Batu Gajah railway station.
