The Muallim District is the eleventh district of the state of Perak, Malaysia, situated at the southeastern tip of the state, bordering the state of Selangor. It was proclaimed by the current Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on 11 January 2016 at the Tanjung Malim District Council Building. [4] [5] The district was previously part of the neighbouring Batang Padang district.
It covers an area of 93,435-hectares of land. [6]
The district includes the towns of Slim River, Behrang, Tanjung Malim and Proton City. [7] It was given the name Muallim, the Arabic word for "teacher", because of the Sultan Idris Education University in the district. The university has produced many teachers since the colonial era.
Muallim District is being administered by the Land and District Office Muallim that located in Slim River, Perak. The current District Officer of Muallim is Encik Mohamad Fitri bin Hassan.

The east and west parts of the Ulu Bernam mukim is separated by the town of Hulu Bernam, which is a part of Hulu Selangor, Selangor. West Ulu Bernam was an exclave of the district and the mukim.

The parliamentary constituency of Tanjong Malim encompasses the entire district. It also supplies two state constituencies in the Perak State Legislative Assembly.

The Kerian District is an administrative district in Perak, Malaysia. It covers the northwestern corner of Perak, bordering the states of Penang and Kedah to the north; the main town of Parit Buntar is located a mere 37 km (23 mi) southeast of George Town, Penang's capital city. The Bernam River is a river located between the Malaysian states of Perak and Selangor, demarcating the border of the two states. The river also separates the respective districts of Muallim and Bagan Datuk on the north and Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam in the south.

Behrang Stesen is a small town located in Muallim District, Perak, Malaysia. It is situated within the parliamentary constituency of Tanjung Malim and is located approximately equidistant – 12 km (7.5 mi) on either side – to Tanjung Malim at its the southeast and to Slim River to its northwest respectively.
The Larut, Matang and Selama District is a district of Perak, Malaysia. Taiping is the capital town of this district. Larut, Matang and Selama used to be three small different districts and they merged into one larger district later. Behrang–Tanjung Malim Highway, Federal Route 193, is a major highway in Perak, Malaysia. The 13.2 km (8.2 mi) federal highway connects Behrang in the north to Tanjung Malim in the south. It also acts as a bypass for the Tanjung Malim town and Tanjung Malim–Slim River Highway.
The Bagan Datuk District is the most southwest district in Perak, Malaysia. It covers an area of 951 square kilometres, and had a population about of 70,300. The district is bordered by Perak River which separates Manjung and Central Perak in the north, Bernam River which separates Sabak Bernam in the state of Selangor in the south, Muallim and Hilir Perak in the northeast. The capital of this district is Bagan Datuk town. Other localities that are situated in the district include Hutan Melintang, Rungkup and a planned township known as the “Bagan Datuk Water City (BDWC)”. Bagan Datuk is well known for the largest source of coconuts in Perak.

Kuala Kangsar shares its borders with Larut, Matang and Selama at the west, Hulu Perak at the north, Gua Musang of Kelantan at the east, Kinta at the south, Perak Tengah and Manjung at the southwest. The seat of this district is the town of Kuala Kangsar.
