Terengganu is a sultanate and federal state of Malaysia. The state is also known by its Arabic honorific, Dāru l-Īmān. The coastal city of Kuala Terengganu, at the mouth of the Terengganu River, is both the state and royal capital as well as the most populous city in Terengganu. Other major cities and towns include Jerteh, Kuala Dungun, Chukai, Kuala Berang, Marang, and Permaisuri. At 13,035 square kilometres in size and a population of over 1.2 million people in 2023, Terengganu is Malaysia's 7th largest state and 10th most populated. Terengganu, along with Kelantan, Perlis, and the Federal Territory of Putrajaya, is one of the most homogeneous states/territories in the country of which 95% of the population are ethnic Malay-Muslims with its own distinct language/dialect, culture, history, and tradition.

The biggest stadium in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia, it was built to replace Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium as the state's main stadium.
Jalan Tengku Mizan, Federal Route 65, is a major highway in Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. The highway connects Bulatan, Kuala Nerus in the north to Bukit Besar, Kuala Terengganu in the south. It was named after Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Terengganu at that time, Tengku Mizan Zainal Abidin from 1979 to 1998. It has been a toll-free highway since toll collection was abolished on 1999. The highway has a motorcycle lane. Landmarks along the highway include Sultan Mahmud Bridge and Terengganu Welcome Sign (Allah Peliharakanlah Terengganu).
Ahmad Razif bin Abdul Rahman is a Malaysian politician who served as the 14th Menteri Besar of Terengganu from May 2014 to May 2018, Member of the Terengganu State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under former Menteri Besars Ahmad Said and himself from April 2008 to July 2016, State Leader of the Opposition of Terengganu from July 2018 to his resignation in February 2019 as well as Member of the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Seberang Takir from March 2008 to August 2023. He is a member and the Division Chief of Kuala Nerus of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition.

He served as Member of the Terengganu State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration under Menteri Besar Ahmad Said from March 2008 to May 2013 and MLA for Batu Rakit from March 2004 to May 2013. He is a member and the Division Chief of Kuala Nerus of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN coalition and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition.
