Supa Collins Mandiwanzira (born 18 September 1972) is a Zimbabwean politician and journalist who served as the Minister of Information Communication Technology (2014-2017) and then Minister of Information Communication Technology and Cyber Security in the Cabinet of Zimbabwe from November 2017 to September 2018. His earlier portfolio had been merged with cybersecurity. [1] He is a member of the Zanu-PF political party. He was the founder of the ZiFM Stereo radio station,and the online ZiTV station.
Mandiwanzira was born in Nyanga,Manicaland Province. He did his primary education in Nyanga.He did his secondary education at Nyamauru High School in Dangamvura,Mutare. [2]
Mandiwanzira started his journalism career by working for his local newspaper,The Manica Post. After attending journalism school at Harare Polytechnic,he worked for The Herald in Harare,primarily covering financial matters. Subsequently,he worked for the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) for five years as a business and financial reporter. He then completed a master's degree in International Journalism at the City University of London. Whilst in London,he worked for the BBC and Reuters financial Television,as well as becoming the London correspondent of Summit Television ,then a new business news channel based in South Africa jointly owned by the Financial Times from London and Times Media Ltd of South Africa.
Mandiwanzira was the managing director of the Africa Business Communications until 2002 when he became chief executive officer of Mighty Movies ,following the purchase of the company from its original shareholders. [3] He then worked for SABC,South Africa's State broadcaster,as the Zimbabwe Correspondent. Mandiwanzira joined the Al Jazeera English news channel as Zimbabwe correspondent. He left Al Jazeera to concentrate his business interests which included Civil Construction,Mining,Property Development,cinemas,radio and television production,and newspapers.
In the 2013 elections,he won a National Assembly seat on the ZANU-PF ticket for Nyanga South,and was appointed to serve as the Deputy Minister of Media,Information and Publicity (aka Deputy Minister of Information,Media and Broadcasting Services). In 2014 he became the Minister of Information Communication Technology,and after the reorganization in November 2017,he became the Minister of Information Communication Technology and Cyber Security. He appeared on the BBC's HARDtalk television program on 13 May 2014,defending the Zimbabwean government's policies. [6]
The former SABC and Aljazeera Zimbabwe correspondent has also recently launched ZiTV online through his Mighty Movies company.[ citation needed ]
In July 2018,he won re-election to his Nyanga South assembly seat. In September 2018 he was replaced as Minister Of ICT and Cyber Security by Kazembe Kazembe. [5] [7]
In November 2018 he was arrested on charges of corruption. [8]
Mandiwanzira married his wife,Ruth,in 1998 and they have three children.[ citation needed ]
Jonathan Nathaniel Mlevu Moyo is a Zimbabwean politician who served in the government of Zimbabwe as Minister of Higher Education from 2015 to 2017. He was previously Minister of Information and Publicity from 2000 to 2005 and again from 2013 to 2015. He was elected to the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe as an independent candidate in 2005 and 2008. He is considered the core architect of the AIPPA and POSA restrictive legislation.

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is a Zimbabwean politician who is serving as President of Zimbabwe since 24 November 2017. A member of ZANU–PF and a longtime ally of former President Robert Mugabe,he held a series of cabinet portfolios and was Mugabe's Vice-President until November 2017,when he was dismissed before coming to power in a coup d'état. He secured his first full term as president in the disputed 2018 general election. Mnangagwa was re-elected in the August 2023 general election with 52.6% of the vote.
Nelson Chamisa is a Zimbabwean politician and the former President of the Citizens Coalition For Change. He served as Member of the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe for Kuwadzana East,Harare. Chamisa was the MDC Alliance's candidate for president in the 2018 general election,having previously been the leader of the party's youth assembly. He was the Presidential candidate for the Citizens Coalition for Change in the 2023 Zimbabwean Presidential election. He has served as the former chairperson of national youth for the same party as well as the Secretary for Information and Publicity for the opposition party Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). In 2003,at the age of 25,Chamisa became the youngest Member of Parliament. Chamisa was also the youngest cabinet minister in Government of National Unity of Zimbabwe in 2009.
Patrick Antony Chinamasa is a Zimbabwean politician who served in the government of Zimbabwe as the minister of various cabinet ministries. Previously he served as the Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion and the Minister of Justice,Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

Campaigning for the first round of the presidential election held in Zimbabwe on 29 March 2008 took place from February to March. There were three major candidates:President Robert Mugabe of the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF),Morgan Tsvangirai of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change,and the independent candidate Simba Makoni.
The 2008–2009 Zimbabwean political negotiations between the opposition Movement for Democratic Change,its small splinter group,the Movement for Democratic Change –Mutambara,and the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union –Patriotic Front were intended to negotiate an end to the partisan violence and human rights violations in Zimbabwe and create a framework for a power-sharing executive government between the two parties. These negotiations followed the 2008 presidential election,in which Mugabe was controversially re-elected,as well as the 2008 parliamentary election,in which the MDC won a majority in the House of Assembly.
The Movement for Democratic Change –Tsvangirai (MDC–T) is a centre-left political party and was the main opposition party in the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe ahead of the 2018 elections. After the split of the original Movement for Democratic Change in 2005,the MDC–T remained the major opposition faction,while a smaller faction,the Movement for Democratic Change –Ncube,or MDC–N,was led by Welshman Ncube.
The Cabinet of Zimbabwe is the executive body that forms the government of Zimbabwe together with the President of Zimbabwe. The Cabinet is composed of the President,the Vice-Presidents,and ministers appointed by the President. Until 1987,the Cabinet was chaired by the Prime Minister;it is now headed by the President.
The media of Zimbabwe has varying amounts of control by successive governments,coming under tight restriction in recent years by the government of Robert Mugabe,particularly during the growing economic and political crisis in the country. The Zimbabwean constitution promotes freedom of the media and expression,however this is hampered by interference and the implementation of strict media laws. In its 2008 report,Reporters Without Borders ranked the Zimbabwean media as 151st out of 173.
General elections were held in Zimbabwe on 29 March 2008 to elect the President and Parliament. Because of Zimbabwe's dire economic situation,the elections were expected to provide incumbent President Robert Mugabe with his toughest electoral challenge to date. Mugabe's opponents were critical of the handling of the electoral process,and the government was accused of planning to rig the election. Human Rights Watch said that the election was likely to be "deeply flawed."
Chirumanzu–Zibagwe is a constituency of the National Assembly of the Parliament of Zimbabwe,located in the Chirumhanzu District in Midlands Province. Mvuma,a small mining town,is one of the largest commercial centers in the constituency. The constituency was created in 2008 from the old Chirumanzu and Zhombe constituencies. Emmerson Mnangagwa,now the President of Zimbabwe,was the inaugural member,followed by his wife,Auxillia Mnangagwa. Its current Member of Parliament is Prosper Machando (ZANU–PF).
Christopher Hatikure Mutsvangwa is a Zimbabwean politician,diplomat and businessman. A veteran of the Rhodesian Bush War,Mutsvangwa served the government of independent Zimbabwe and the ZANU-PF party in a number of roles,including as Director-General of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation,Ambassador to China,head of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association,and Veterans' Welfare Minister.
Patrick Zhuwao is a Zimbabwean businessman,farmer,and politician. He served as minister of public service,labour and social welfare between October and November 2017. He was expelled from the ruling ZANU–PF party during the 2017 Zimbabwean coup d'état.
Rinos Mautsa is a Zimbabwean entrepreneur. He is well known for starting Zimbabwe's first call center,the Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe (CCAZ) and co-founder of the Chartered Institute of Customer Management. He is reported to have promoted and developed Zimbabwe's Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) industry through CCAZ and Tech24. He is also the founder of Picco Construction and Energy Plus International.
Kazembe Raymond (Ray) Kazembe is a Zimbabwean politician and currently serves as the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage. He also served as Zimbabwe's Minister of Sport,Arts and Recreation and Zimbabwe's Minister of Justice,Legal and Parliamentary Affairs. He was elected to the National Assembly in 2013 as a Zanu-PF member for Mazowe West Constituency. Previous to his move to politics,Kazembe was the chairman of the Dynamos football club.
Herbert Thomas Gomba is a Zimbabwean politician who served as mayor of Harare from 2018 to 2020. He has been a member of the Harare City Council since 2008 representing Ward 27,which covers parts of the Glen Norah suburb. Gomba was elected and sworn in as mayor on 3 September 2018,but was recalled from the City Council on 14 August 2020 amid factional disputes within the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance. He was reelected to the City Council in a March 2022 by-election as a Citizens Coalition for Change candidate.
Jenfan Muswere is a Zimbabwean politician who is the current Minister of Publicity,Information,and Broadcasting Services of Zimbabwe and a member of parliament. He is the member of ZANU–PF. He was appointed to the position on 11 September,2023. Previously,Muswere served in the Ministry of Communication Information Technology,Courier and Postal Services. Prior to his promotion as the Minister,he worked as the deputy minister in the same portfolio. His appointment came about when Kazembe was being reassigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as Cultural Heritage on 8 November,2019.
