The Complete Budokan 1978 is a box set of 1978 live recordings by Bob Dylan. It was released on November 17, 2023, through Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings.
Recorded on February 28 and March 1, 1978, the concert took place at the Nippon Budokan, Tokyo as a three-show kickoff of his 1978 world tour. The recording features audio from two of the shows for the live album Bob Dylan at Budokan (1978). The collection features a set of four discs with all the songs, all restored, remixed, and remastered, played on the two nights at the Budokan, including a previously unreleased recording of "The Man in Me". At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from professional critics, the album received an average score of 79 based on eight reviews, indicating "universal acclaim". [2] Vish Khanna of Exclaim! opined that the album is proof that "less is more" does not necessarily apply here as "the whole story can in fact be worth more than selected excerpts". Khanna concluded that the concert captures the "first experiential glimmer" of Dylan "as a lost seeker" that is testing "new ideas" as well as "his audience". [4]
Pat Carty at Classic Rock drew comparisons with Elvis in Vegas for containing "dense, big-band arrangements". Carty thought that the release was "much improved from the original", citing highlights such as "I Threw It All Away" and "Just Like a Woman". While it may not "convert Dylan doubters", it should be an "interesting curio all the same". [3] Stephen Thomas Erlewine at Pitchfork thought the album reperesents Dylan's "latter-day incarnation as a restless and mercurial road warrior" but cannot hide the fact that the album is "just a drag" and feels "often dorky, too". The artist trying to entertain "just winds up as enervation". [6]
All tracks were recorded at the Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo, with all tracks on discs 1 and 2 recorded on February 28, 1978, and all tracks on discs 3 and 4 recorded on March 1, 1978.

The Nippon Budokan, often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It was originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most outstanding musical performance venues. The Budokan was a popular venue for Japanese professional wrestling for a time, and it has hosted numerous other sporting events such as the 1967 Women's Volleyball World Championship. Most recently, the arena hosted the Olympic debut of karate in the 2020 Summer Olympics, as well as the judo competition at both the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Cheap Trick at Budokan is the first live album by American rock band Cheap Trick, and their best-selling recording. Recorded at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, the album was first released in Japan on October 8, 1978, and later released in the United States in February 1979, through Epic Records. After several years of constant touring but only middling exposure for the band, At Budokan steadily grew off radio play and word-of-mouth to become a high-selling success, kickstarting the band's popularity and becoming acclaimed as one of the greatest live rock albums of all time and a classic of the power pop genre.
Bob Dylan at Budokan is a live album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released August 1978 on Columbia Records in Japan only, followed by a worldwide release in April 1979. It was recorded during his 1978 world tour and is composed mostly of the artist's "greatest hits". The performances in the album are radically altered from the originals, using the same musicians that played on Street-Legal, but relying on a much larger band and stronger use of brass and backing singers. In some respects the arrangements are more conventional than the original arrangements, for which the album was criticized. For a few critics, such as Janet Maslin of Rolling Stone, the differences between the older and newer arrangements had become less important.

Double Platinum is the first greatest hits album by the American hard rock band Kiss, released in 1978. Many of the songs on Double Platinum were remixed and differed from their original versions: in the case of "Strutter," it was re-recorded with a slight disco beat and dubbed "Strutter '78." Other songs had sections completely removed, while the beginning of "Black Diamond" was repeated at the end, fading out at the start of the first verse and giving the song a "wrap around" feel.
Peter Criss is the first solo album by Peter Criss, the drummer of American hard rock band Kiss. It was one of four solo albums released by the members of Kiss on September 18, 1978. The album was produced by Vini Poncia, who went on to produce the Kiss albums Dynasty (1979) and Unmasked (1980). Criss covered "Tossin' and Turnin'", which was a No. 1 hit for Bobby Lewis in the U.S. during the summer of 1961. The song was subsequently covered by Kiss on their 1979 tour.

Dylan is a greatest hits album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. The collection was released on October 2, 2007 by Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings with worldwide distribution through Sony BMG. It was released as a single-disc CD and a three-disc Deluxe Edition, which was released as a digipack and a box set presented in replica-vinyl packaging, along with 10 postcards and an extensive booklet. The Deluxe Edition includes the 1971 version of "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" although the album's liner notes erroneously state that it is the 1967 version.

Witmark & Sons, from 1962 to 1964. The seventh installment of the ongoing Bob Dylan Bootleg Series, it was released on October 19, 2010 on Legacy Records.
The Complete Album Collection Vol. One is a forty-seven disc box set released on November 4, 2013, by Bob Dylan. It includes thirty-five albums released between 1962 and 2012, six live albums, and a compilation album unique to the set, Side Tracks, which contains previously released material unavailable on regular studio or live albums.
The Bootleg Series Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes Complete is a compilation album of unreleased home recordings made in 1967 by Bob Dylan and the group of musicians that would become the Band, released on November 3, 2014 on Legacy Records. It is the ninth installment of the Bob Dylan Bootleg Series, available as a six-disc complete set, and as a separate set of highlights – in a two-disc format common to the rest of the series – entitled The Basement Tapes Raw.

Recording sessions took place at the Loft in Chicago during lockdown in April 2020 after Wilco's tour dates were cancelled due to COVID-19. Production was handled by Tom Schick and Tweedy himself. The Bootleg Series Vol. 17: Fragments – Time Out of Mind Sessions (1996–1997) is a compilation album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. The 15th installment in the ongoing Bob Dylan Bootleg Series, it was released by Legacy Records on January 27, 2023. The compilation includes a remix of the original Time Out of Mind album, outtakes, alternate versions and live recordings. The release comes in a two-CD standard edition and a five-disc box set. In addition to the CD releases, a 4-LP and 10-LP were released.
Shadow Kingdom is the 40th studio album and second soundtrack album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on June 2, 2023, through Columbia Records. It is Dylan's first album of new studio recordings since his 2020 album Rough and Rowdy Ways. The songs were recorded at Village Recorder in West Los Angeles in early 2021 to accompany Alma Har'el's film Shadow Kingdom: The Early Songs of Bob Dylan, which was shot later. Although no musicians are listed in the credits, various sources have identified the session players as consisting of veterans such as T Bone Burnett and Don Was. It is the first album in which Dylan plays with a band that features no drums or percussion.
