Todd Williams (born March 7, 1969) [1] is a retired long-distance runner from the United States, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics, competing in Barcelona 1992 finishing 10th in the 10k and a DNF in the semifinals in Atlanta 1996(dropping out with 10 laps to go after fading from the lead qualifiers). Williams was born in Monroe, Michigan. During high school he won the Michigan cross country team race title twice(1985,1986) as well as the class A 3200m race twice indoor and outdoor(1986,1987) and a 1st team All-American his junior and senior years.
He was a two-time United States cross country champion, with victories in 1991 and 1993 and the 1992,1993, 1995 and 1996 10,000m USA Champion. He won his last USA title on the track at the USA Indoor Championship in the 3000m 1997.
He attended the University of Tennessee where he was an All-American for three years, won the USA junior national cross country title(1988) and as a senior helped lead the Vols to a NCAA track and field title in 1991.
As a professional running for adidas he made the world championships in cross country 1992,1993 and 1995 and was #1 American in those races along with qualifying for two world track and field teams(1993 and 1995) finishing as top American in both those events as well. As a junior he qualified for the World Junior Cross Country Championships in 1987(Warsaw, Poland) and 1988(Auckland, New Zealand) where he was #1 American finisher in both races.
On the road racing scene Todd won USA titles in the 10k,15k,10 mile, 1/2 marathon distances as well as winning many other major road races.
After his professional running career ended in 2002 he started training in the martial art Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is now a 4th degree black belt under Luiz Palhares and owns Monroe Jiu Jitsu in Monroe, Michigan since 2017.
He had amazing coaches from 8th grade thru his professional career with Coach Rick Kleinsmith, Coach Randy Monday, Coach Bobby Wood, Coach David Bork, Coach Doug Brown and Coach George Watts helping Todd helping and guiding Todd immensely throughout his career.
His personal bests were 4:00 in the mile, 8:14 2 mile, 13:19.50 in the 5000 m and 27:31.34 in the 10,000 m. He ran his marathon best of 2:11:17 in the 1997 Chicago Marathon. He is a five-time winner of the Gate River Run and set the current American record over 15 km at the event, running a time of 42:22 minutes for the distance. This is also the record for the whole of the North American, Central American and Caribbean region (NACAC).
Williams also holds the 3rd-fastest half marathon time ever by an American of 60:11 which he ran in Tokyo in 1993. [2]
He's married to Lindsey Williams and has two daughters Brooke and Bailee.

Dathan James Ritzenhein is a retired American long-distance runner, and current head coach of the On Athletics Club (OAC). He held the American record in the 5,000 metres (12:56.27) from 2009 to 2010, until it was broken by Bernard Lagat. He is a three-time national cross country champion with wins at the USA Cross Country Championships in 2005, 2008 and 2010. Formerly a Nike athlete for the majority of his professional career, Dathan joined the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project team in 2017. In early May 2020, he announced his retirement from competition. He signed with the Swiss shoe brand On shortly thereafter in June 2020 and currently acts as the coach for the OAC in Boulder, Colorado.
Adam Goucher is a retired American cross-country and track and field athlete. He ran for the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics in the men's 5000 meters. Goucher primarily competed in distance events and is featured in Running With The Buffaloes, a book revolving around the 1998 season of the University of Colorado cross country team.
Ryan Hall is a retired American long-distance runner who holds the U.S. record in the half marathon. With his half marathon record time (59:43), he became the first U.S. runner to break the one-hour barrier in the event. He is also the only American to run a sub-2:05 marathon. However, this time is not eligible to be a record due to the course being point-to-point and a net-downhill course. Hall won the marathon at the 2008 United States Olympic trials and placed tenth in the Olympic marathon in Beijing.
Jordan Melissa Hogan is an American distance runner. She attended Mission College Preparatory High School in San Luis Obispo and was unanimously selected 2008 Girls High School Athlete of the Year by the voting panel at Track and Field News. In March 2009, she became the ninth high school athlete and third woman on the cover of Track and Field News magazine.
Lynn Alice Jennings is a retired American long-distance runner. She is one of the best female American runners of all time, with a range from 1500 meters to the marathon. She excelled at all three of the sport's major disciplines: track, road, and cross country. She won the bronze in the Women's 10,000 metres at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She set a world indoor record in the 5000 meter run in 1990.
Shalane Grace Flanagan is an American long-distance runner, coach, Olympic medalist and New York City Marathon champion. She was the first American woman to win the New York City Marathon since 1977. She holds the NACAC area records in both the 10k and 15k road races.
Matthew "Teg" Tegenkamp is a retired professional runner from Lee's Summit, Missouri who specialized in various long-distance events. Tegenkamp represented the United States at two Summer Olympics, in 2008 and 2012. He trained with other members of the KIMbia Athletics group and was sponsored by Nike during his professional career. Tegenkamp set an American record in the outdoor two mile[PRs] and also achieved other performances that were near record breaking during his career.
Robert M. Curtis is an American distance runner who ran professionally for the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project. As a student athlete at Villanova, he won the men's 5000 meters at the 2008 NCAA DI National Championship. Over the course of his running career, he struggled with insomnia.
Anne Rochelle Steely Ramirez, née Anne Rochelle Steely, is a former long-distance runner who competed internationally for the United States. She specialized in the 3,000 meters on the track and later competed in road running events.
Sara Elizabeth Slattery is an American middle- and long-distance runner who mainly competes in track races. Slattery has represented the United States at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships at both junior and senior level.
Jason Hartmann is an NCAA coach and a former American long-distance runner who specializes in marathon races. He won the Twin Cities Marathon in 2009. Leonard Essau Korir is an American long-distance runner who competes over distances from 5000 meters to the marathon. He is a two-time NCAA champion, winning an indoor 5000 m title and outdoor 10,000 meters title in 2011 for the Iona Gaels. He gained United States citizenship and began competing for his adoptive nation in 2016.

Panning Qualified for the 2024 United States Olympic marathon trials following the Chicago Marathon, at the trials he finished 6th after leading for the majority of the race.
Minnesota Distance Elite, previously known as Team USA Minnesota, is a long-distance running team based in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The team is designed to support the running careers of post-collegiate athletes, supporting athletes from middle distance to the marathon. By 2024, Minnesota Distance Elite is widely recognized as one of the top American running teams.
