As a designated place in the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Tompkins recorded a population of 114 living in 48 of its 66 total private dwellings, a change of -15.6% from its 2011 population of 135. With a land area of 6.25 km2 (2.41 sq mi), it had a population density of 18.2/km2 (47.2/sq mi) in 2016. [2]
