Vidio.com is the Indonesian video streaming service established on 1 October 2014 which is now owned by PT Surya Citra Media Tbk, a subsidiary of Emtek. [1] This service content consists of free-to-air and subscription channels, live streaming, films and dramas, and television. [2] [3]

History

Vidio was founded on 1 October 2014 to become a platform for all Indonesian creative works about Indonesia, including music, art, culture, films, sports, and various video works that are worth watching.

Originally, Vidio's content was dominated by content from SCTV, Indosiar, O Channel, and from users.

At the end of 2015, the video had more than 100.000 videos.

Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV) is an Indonesian free-to-air television network. It was launched on 24 August 1990 in Surabaya, East Java as Surabaya Central Televisi, broadcasting to the city and its surrounding area. At first, the programming was similar to that of RCTI, using some of their news programs until they could produce their own. On 1 August 1993, SCTV obtained a national license and eventually moved its operations to Jakarta, changing its name to Surya Citra Televisi. Its main offices are located in Central Jakarta, with studios in West Jakarta. It is owned by Surya Citra Media, part of the technology company Emtek.
