As of the census [2] of 2000, there were 1,049 people, 459 households, and 322 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 257.4 inhabitants per square mile (99.4/km2). There were 506 housing units at an average density of 124.2 per square mile (48.0/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.28% White, 0.29% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 0.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.95% of the population.
There were 459 households, out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.8% were non-families. 27.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average family size was 2.77.
