Witt is a city in Montgomery County, Illinois, United States. The population was 785 at the 2020 census, [3] down from 903 in 2010.
Witt is in eastern Montgomery County along Illinois Route 16, which leads 11 miles (18 km) southwest to Hillsboro, the county seat, and 4.5 miles (7.2 km) northeast to Nokomis.

There were 438 households, out of which 26.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.9% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.4% were non-families. 35.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 19.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
