The 2012 Woking Council election is scheduled to take place on 3 May 2012 to elect members of Woking Council in England.^[1] This will be on the same day as other United Kingdom local elections, 2012.

The Borough of Woking is a local government district with borough status in the west of Surrey, England. It is one of eleven districts in the county which has administrative status as to a different set of local government powers and responsibilities.

Sheerwater is a residential neighbourhood or small suburb of the Borough of Woking in Surrey, England, occasionally described as a village, between West Byfleet and Horsell. Its border is defined to the north by a gently winding part of the Basingstoke Canal and to the south by the South Western Main Line which passes from cutting level to that of an embankment. The neighbourhood has a business park and light industry at its south-western end. Woking is a large town in northwest Surrey, England. It is at the southwestern edge of the Greater London Urban Area and is a part of the London commuter belt, with frequent trains and a journey time of approximately 24 minutes to Waterloo station. Woking is 23 miles (37 km) southwest of Charing Cross in central London. Woking town itself, excluding its narrowly contiguous Built-up Area which extends from West End to West Byfleet, has a population of 62,796, and the UK Government has recorded its Built Up Area as 5% more populous than its Borough with 105,367 residents in 2011, the highest in the county.
