The festival's Best Picture award went to Regal Films' Blue Moon , while the Best Actress and Best Actor awards were awarded to Padilla and Agustin for their roles in Mano Po 4: Ako Legal Wife and Kutob respectively. The Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards went to Jose Manalo for Enteng Kabisote 2: Okay Ka Fairy Ko: The Legend Continues and Cherry Pie Picache for Mano Po 4: Ako Legal Wife . [1]

"Best Director" issue

Director Joel Lamangan walked out after he lost to Jose Javier Reyes. Lamangan failed to win the Best Director for Blue Moon against Reyes' Kutob . In the same year, Regal Films's matriarch Lily Monteverde voiced out her disappointment as she lamented that some winners in the festival were "undeserving." [3] [4]

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority and held nationwide in the Philippines. Mano Po is a 2002 Filipino drama film produced by Regal Entertainment, and an entry to the 2002 Metro Manila Film Festival. The film's title refers to the "honoring-gesture" used in Filipino culture as a sign of respect to elders. The film focuses on the lives of the Chinese Filipino community. Mano Po stars an all-star cast headed by Maricel Soriano, Richard Gomez, Kris Aquino and Ara Mina. Eddie Garcia and Boots Anson-Roa play the patriarch and matriarch of the Go clan respectively.

Mano Po is a Filipino drama anthology film series produced by Regal Entertainment, and is one of the most successful film series produced in the history of Philippine cinema, and the second longest-running Filipino film series, the first being Shake, Rattle & Roll which had a total of 16 films with three episodes each. Mano Po 4: Ako Legal Wife is a 2005 Filipino comedy-drama film produced by Regal Entertainment, and an entry to the 2005 Metro Manila Film Festival. The film focuses on the lives of the Chinese-Filipino community, but rather in a comedic way unlike in the first three Mano Po installments which are used in a melodramatic way. It stars Jay Manalo, Zsa Zsa Padilla as Chona the Legal Wife, Cherry Pie Picache as Patty the Lucky Wife and Rufa Mae Quinto as Gloria the Latest Wife. The title is considered as the fourth installment of the Mano Po film series and was based on the line of Zsa Zsa Padilla in Mano Po 2: My Home; “Ako legal wife!”.

The 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the annual film festival in Manila, Philippines that is held from December 25, 2011 until the first week of January 2012. During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters in order to showcase locally produced films.

Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang was a withdrawn fantasy action-adventure film produced by Unitel Productions. The film is composed of two stories, "Pedrong Walang Takot" and "Mariang Alimango" derived from the short stories of Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang written by Severino Reyes. The film would have been directed by Mark Meilly, and Chris Martinez. The film also would have starred Richard Gomez, Paolo Contis, Sam Concepcion, Iza Calzado, Rufa Mae Quinto, Empress Schuck and Zsa Zsa Padilla. It was one of the 8 official entries for 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival but later on, the film sent a request letter to MMDA to pull out of the festival. On October 19, the film was replaced by Thy Womb.

The 32nd Metro Manila Film Festival was held in Manila, Philippines, from December 25, 2006 to January 7, 2007.

The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival was the edition of the annual film festival that is held in Metro Manila, Philippines and is organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). During the film festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine cinemas and theaters in order to showcase locally produced films. The film festival began on December 23, 2014 and was kicked off by the yearly Parade of Stars' float parade starting from the Quirino Grandstand. It is expected to run until January 7 of the following year.

Mano Po 7: Chinoy is a 2016 Filipino drama film directed by Ian Loreños, and the seventh installment of the Mano Po film series. The film starring Richard Yap, Jean Garcia and Enchong Dee. The film was produced by Regal Entertainment. It tells the story of a modern Chinese Filipino family. Beneath the facade of a typical well-off Chinese Filipino family, it also tackles the struggles of family life as well as how they managed to reunite themselves as one. The film was shown in theatres starting December 14, 2016, but was delayed due to insistent public demand that the film was re-run in theatres starting February 8, 2017. The film starred Richard Yap, making him the first male main protagonist in the Mano Po film series. It was also the second Mano Po film that was not directed by Joel Lamangan who directed Mano Po, Mano Po III: My Love, Mano Po 4: Ako Legal Wife, Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di and Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love.

Magkano ang Iyong Dangal? is a 1988 Filipino romantic drama film directed by Laurice Guillen and starring Christopher de Leon, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Joel Torre, Jestoni Alarcon, Princess Punzalan, and Michael Locsin. Adapted from the "komik" of the same name by Gilda Olvidado, the film is about the adulteries committed by married couple Paolo and Era, played by de Leon and Padilla respectively. It was released on December 25, 1988, as part of the 14th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
