The 32nd Metro Manila Film Festival was held in Manila, Philippines, from December 25, 2006 to January 7, 2007.
Star Cinema's Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo received the top prizes and went home with the most trophies at the 2006 Metro Manila Film Festival during its awarding ceremony at the Aliw Theater in Pasay. The film, which starred real-life couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, won some of the major awards including the Second Best Picture, Best Actress for Santos, Best Director for Jose Javier Reyes, Best Supporting Actress for Gina Pareño, Most Gender-Sensitive Film, and the Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Awards among others. In addition, the film's theme song, "Hawak Kamay" composed and sung by Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino, won the Best Original Theme Song. The Best Picture award is received by OctoArts Films and M-Zet Production's third installment of Enteng Kabisote film series entitled Enteng Kabisote 3: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko: The Legend Goes On and On and On .
The Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards went to Ligalig's actor, producer, and director Cesar Montano and second-time awardee Johnny Delgado respectively.
Other awardees are Shake, Rattle and Roll 8's Nash Aguas for Best Child Performer, Regal Films' Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di receiving five awards, and CM Films' Ligalig and Violett Films' Tatlong Baraha which received three awards each. [1]
There were originally ten entries in this year's edition of the annual film festival but OctoArts Films' Short Time backed out at the last minute, leaving the field to just nine. As a result of this, the Executive Committee of MMFFP decided to simultaneously show all the entries on December 25 compared to the past years when some of the films are shown one week after. [2]

Octoarts Films and M-Zet Production's Enteng Kabisote 3: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko: The Legend Goes On and On and On was declared the Best Picture after festival organizers changed the criteria for the award by giving more weight to "commercial appeal". As it was the only prize that the film won, the decision to let the film receive it becomes the subject of yet another controversy at the festival. Movie producer Star Cinema made a protest to the MMDA and wrote to then MMFF chairman Bayani Fernando, claiming that the movie Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo should have won Best Picture because it topped the final box office. Judy Anne Lumagui Santos is a Filipino actress and film producer. Prolific in film and television in the Philippines since the early 1990s, she is known for her comedic and dramatic roles in independent films and blockbusters, as well as for her portrayals of oppressed and impoverished women. She has received various accolades, including a Cairo International Film Festival Award, a Gawad Urian, two Luna Awards, two Metro Manila Film Festival Awards, and three FAMAS Awards.
The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority and held nationwide in the Philippines. The festival, which runs from Christmas Day through New Year's Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino produced films. During the course of the festival, movie theaters show only films that are approved by its jurors and exclude foreign films except in 3D theaters and IMAX theaters. It is one of the two Filipino major film festivals to exclude foreign films in a week-long period, the other being the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino happening during August.

"Hawak Kamay" is a song by Filipina singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino, the winner of the ABS-CBN TV program Pinoy Dream Academy in 2006. Solely written by Constantino, the song is about a cousin with whom she developed a deep friendship. In 2006, it won the Best Theme Song at the 32nd Metro Manila Film Festival. The song is also used in the 2011 film, Won't Last a Day Without You.

Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo is a 2007 Filipino romantic comedy film written and directed by Jose Javier Reyes. It is sequel to the 2006 film Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo with Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo reprising their roles. There were some scenes filmed in Spain. Santos and Agoncillo were in attendance during the California and Hawaii international premieres.
Judy Ann Santos is a Filipino actress who began her career performing as a child on film and television. Her first screen appearance was in a supporting role in the drama series Kaming Mga Ulila (1986) and she made her film debut with a minor role in Sana Mahalin Mo Rin Ako (1988), appearing alongside Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III. At age ten, Santos had her first leading role as the eponymous character in the children's television series Ula, Ang Batang Gubat (1988). She achieved wider recognition when she and Gladys Reyes played the titular roles in the drama series Mara Clara (1992). The show, which aired until 1997, became one of the longest running Filipino television series. It established her as a star and earned Santos a FAMAS Award for her performance in the 1996 film adaptation.

Iskul Bukol 20 Years After (Ungasis and Escaleras Adventure) is a 2008 Filipino adventure comedy film starring actors Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon. It is part of the Iskul Bukol franchise, depicting its characters 20 years after the end of the original TV series. The 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), presented by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), was held from 25 December 2013 to the first week of January 2014. During the festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine theaters in order to showcase locally produced films. For this year, eight film entries were chosen by the MMDA to be showcased in the festival. Contrary to previous years, the Enteng Kabisote, Panday, and Shake, Rattle & Roll films were not presented for this year's festival.
