The 33rd annual 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival ran from December 25, 2007 to January 7, 2008.
Maricel Soriano, Jinggoy Estrada and the movie, Resiklo topped the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival. Soriano and Estrada took home the Best Actress and Best Actor awards for their performances in the films Bahay Kubo: A Pinoy Mano Po! and Katas ng Saudi respectively. Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.'s Resiklo won eight awards including the Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Roi Vinzon among others. Second-consecutive winners Nash Aguas and Jose Javier Reyes received the Best Child Performer and Best Screenplay respectively.
Other awardees include Best Director for Cesar Apolinario, Metro Manila Film Festival Award for Best Supporting Actress for Bahay Kubo: A Pinoy Mano Po!'s Eugene Domingo, and Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Awards for both Bahay Kubo: A Pinoy Mano Po! and Katas ng Saudi. [1]

The awards night ended in less than an hour after festival organizers decided to just announce the winners without even mentioning the nominees for each category. The organizers explained that it had to be rushed and had to end at exactly 9pm because a concert, featuring singer Lani Misalucha, was scheduled right after the awards ceremonies. [7] [8]

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority and held nationwide in the Philippines. The festival, which runs from Christmas Day through New Year's Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino produced films. During the course of the festival, movie theaters show only films that are approved by its jurors and exclude foreign films except in 3D theaters and IMAX theaters. It is one of the two Filipino major film festivals to exclude foreign films in a week-long period, the other being the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino happening during August.

Mano Po 7: Chinoy is a 2016 Filipino drama film directed by Ian Loreños, and the seventh installment of the Mano Po film series. The film starring Richard Yap, Jean Garcia and Enchong Dee. The film was produced by Regal Entertainment. It tells the story of a modern Chinese Filipino family. Beneath the facade of a typical well-off Chinese Filipino family, it also tackles the struggles of family life as well as how they managed to reunite themselves as one. The film was shown in theatres starting December 14, 2016, but was delayed due to insistent public demand that the film was re-run in theatres starting February 8, 2017. The film starred Richard Yap, making him the first male main protagonist in the Mano Po film series. It was also the second Mano Po film that was not directed by Joel Lamangan who directed Mano Po, Mano Po III: My Love, Mano Po 4: Ako Legal Wife, Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di and Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love.
