East Asia

The 2011 East Asia Basketball Championship is the qualifying tournament for the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. It also serves as a regional championship involving East Asian basketball teams. the three best teams excluding China qualifies for 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. The tournament was held from June 10 to 15, 2011 in Nanjing, China. [2]

Middle Asia – Stans

The 2011 Middle Asia qualifying tournament for ‘Stans’ section of the Middle Asia was held on July 31, 2011 in Navoiy, Uzbekistan. The best team qualifies for 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. [6] Afghanistan was supposed to play in this tournament but Uzbekistan's foreign ministry did not authorize the visas to travel to the tournament. [7]

The 2011 Southeast Asia Basketball Association Championship is the qualifying tournament for the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship; it also serves as a regional championship involving Southeast Asian basketball teams. It was held on June 23 to June 26, 2011 at Jakarta, Indonesia. The top three finishers qualifies to the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. [8]

The 2011 FIBA Asia Championship for Men is the intercontinental championship for basketball organized by FIBA Asia that doubles as a qualifying tournament for the men's basketball tournament of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, United Kingdom. The tournament was held in 15–25 September 2011 at Wuhan, Hubei, China. Lebanon was the original host for the event. Team China won the tournament, defeating Jordan 70–69 in the final. It was the first time in the history of FIBA Asia Championship that the title was won by just one single point.

2009 FIBA Asia Championship

The 2009 FIBA Asia Championship for Men was the biennial Asian continental championship and also served as the FIBA Asia qualifying tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The tournament was held from August 6 to 16, 2009 in Tianjin, China.

The 2009 FIBA Asia Championship qualification was held in early 2009 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia each conducting tournaments.

2010 FIBA Asia Stanković Cup

2010 FIBA Asia Stanković Cup was the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup. The basketball tournament of FIBA Asia was held in Beirut, Lebanon from 7 August to 15 August 2010, in Ghazir Club Court involving 10 national teams from Asia.

The 2005 FIBA Asia Championship qualification was held in late 2004 and early 2005 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia each conducting tournaments.

The 2003 ABC Championship qualification was held in late 2002 and early 2003 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia each conducting tournaments.

The 2001 ABC Championship qualification was held in late 2000 and early 2001 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia each conducting tournaments.

2011 FIBA Asia Champions Cup

The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2011 was the 22nd staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament was held in Pasig, Philippines from May 28 to June 5, 2011. The event is co-organized by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and FIBA Asia.

The 2010 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship qualification was held in late 2009 and early 2010 with the Persian Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia each conducting tournaments.

The qualification for the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship was held in late 2012 from early 2013 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Central Asia and South Asia each conducting tournaments.

The 2012 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship qualification was held in late 2011 and early 2012 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Central Asia and South Asia each conducting tournaments.

2014 FIBA Asia Cup

2014 FIBA Asia Cup was the 5th FIBA Asia Cup, a top-level international basketball tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament was held in Wuhan, Hubei, China from 11–19 July 2014. Iran won the tournament by defeating Chinese Taipei 89–79 in the final and thus automatically qualified for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship to be held in China.

The 2014 FIBA Asia Champions Cup will be the 25th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament was supposed to be held in Kuwait on June 5–13, 2014, but FIBA Asia, through a communique to the National Federations representing the qualified teams, had announced that the tournament will be rescheduled after the 2014 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women sometime in the third-fourth week of October, after they mentioned that they require their top players to be available for the National Team’s preparations for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2014 Asian Games.

Qualifying for the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup was held to determine the eight teams that will participate in the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup, aside from the host team China and 2013 FIBA Asia Championship winners Iran. Qualification was via FIBA Asia zone, with each zone having an automatic one berth, plus additional berths from the teams' zones of the second and third runners-up in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.

Qualification for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship was held to determine the participants in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship. China secured qualification by being named as hosts. The other fifteen berths were disputed per FIBA Asia zone, and via the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup.

Qualification for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup are being held to determine the participants in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup. Lebanon secured qualification by being named as hosts. The other fifteen berths were disputed per FIBA Asia zone, and via the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge.
