2013 World Youth Championships in Athletics – Boys' octathlon

The Boys' octathlon at the 2013 World Youth Championships in Athletics was held on 10 and 11 July. The competition was won by the Norwegian athlete Karsten Warholm who like the other medalists set a new personal best in the event. His result was 40 points behind the world youth record. [1]

Lysgårdsbakken, officially known as Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Arena, is a ski jumping hill in Lillehammer, Norway. It consists of a large hill, with a K-point of 123 and a hill size of 138, and a small hill with a K-point of 90 and a hill size of 98. It opened in 1993 for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it hosted the ski jumping and Nordic combined events, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. After the Olympics, ownership was transferred to the municipal Lillehammer Olympiapark and it has since been used for several FIS Ski Jumping World Cup and FIS Nordic Combined World Cup tournaments, including hosting the Nordic Tournament. The IAAF U18 Championships in Athletics was a global athletics event comprising track and field events for competitors who were 17 or younger. The event was organized by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It was held biennially from 1999 to 2017.

Swedish relay is an athletics track event in which teams comprise four runners. The first runner runs 100 meters, the second one 200 m, the third one 300 m and the fourth runner 400 m, so the total length of the race is one kilometer.
