2019 Rajya Sabha elections were held throughout 2019, to fill the vacancies in the Rajya Sabha, the Indian Parliament's upper chamber. The elections were held to elect 2 members from Assam as well as 6 members from Tamil Nadu. By-elections were held for 14 seats among various states.

The elections resulted in the ruling BJP maintaining and increasing their majority with a net gain of 6 seats.

    Arun Singh is an Indian politician and Chartered Accountant who is the current Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh from 5 December 2019. He has been a Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary and Head Quarter Incharge since 17 June 2015.

    Nitin Agarwal is an Indian politician, serving as Minister of State for Excise & Liquor Prohibition in the State Government of Uttar Pradesh. He is elected as a member of the 18th Legislative Assembly. He represents the Hardoi constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is an elected member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on 18 October 2021. He resigned from his post on 19 January 2022.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">2017 Rajya Sabha elections</span>

    Elections were held in India on 21 July and 8 August 2017 as nomination contests by state legislators routinely for ten members of the Rajya Sabha across three states, replacing those who retired in July and August 2017. The State Legislatures which contribute in this six-year minor elections/nomination cycle are Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal. The mechanism is the single transferable vote (STV) among legislators, meaning nominations may be unopposed contests. The open ballot is used rather than secret ballot, allowing public scrutiny.

    2020 Rajya Sabha elections were the set of indirect elections by the members of State legislatures of India, to elect new members to fill vacancies in the Rajya Sabha – the upper house of the Parliament of India. The elections are held annually and throughout the year on an ad hoc basis. The elections in 2020 are for a total of 73 seats of which 55 of them were to be elected by March 26. The remaining were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Election Commission of India later announced all the elections for the remaining 24 Rajya Sabha seats were to be held on 19 June 2020.
