Elections in Andhra Pradesh are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of India. The Assembly of Andhra Pradesh creates laws regarding the conduct of local body elections unilaterally while any changes by the state legislature to the conduct of state level elections need to be approved by the Parliament of India. In addition, the state legislature may be dismissed by the Parliament according to Article 356 of the Indian Constitution and President's rule may be imposed.
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council or Āndhra Pradēś Śāsana Maṇḍali is the upper house of the bicameral legislature of the Indian state, Andhra Pradesh; the lower house being the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, often shortened to simply the YSR Congress Party, is an Indian regional political party based in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The party was initially registered with Election Commission of India by Kolishetti Shiva Kumar. Thereafter, the party was taken over by its current president, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, having served as the state's chief minister from 2019-2024. It currently has 4 seats in the Lok Sabha.
Yerram Venkata Subba Reddy is an Indian Politician who served as the Member of Parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. He won the 2014 Indian General Elections being a Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party Candidate. In 2019, he has been appointed as the Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which is equivalent to Minister rank in Andhra Pradesh Government.
Elections were held in India on 21 July and 8 August 2017 as nomination contests by state legislators routinely for ten members of the Rajya Sabha across three states, replacing those who retired in July and August 2017. The State Legislatures which contribute in this six-year minor elections/nomination cycle are Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal. The mechanism is the single transferable vote (STV) among legislators, meaning nominations may be unopposed contests. The open ballot is used rather than secret ballot, allowing public scrutiny.
Rajya Sabha elections were held on three dates in 2014, to elect members of the Rajya Sabha, Indian Parliament's upper chamber. The elections were held in February, June, and November to elect respectively 55, 6, and 11 of its 245 members, from 16 of the States. They are held by an open ballot on a single transferable vote (STV) basis among State legislators. Being even-numbered, 2014 was a year in which about 30% of the State Legislature-elected 233-seat component of the body is elected.
Rajya Sabha elections were held on various dates in 2012, to elect members of the Rajya Sabha, Indian Parliament's upper chamber. The elections were held in January to elect respectively 3 members from NCT of Delhi, one member from Sikkim, and in March for 57 members from 15 States for the Rajya Sabha and in June for three members from Kerala.

Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, upper house of the Parliament of India from Andhra Pradesh in the 2020 Rajyasabha elections as a member of the YSR Congress Party.
