The 2022 Sacramento Republic FC season was the club's ninth season of existence. The club played in the USL Championship (USLC), the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. Sacramento Republic FC competed in the Western Conference of the USL Championship.

Contents

The season was highlighted by Republic FC reaching the final of the U.S. Open Cup, becoming the first non-MLS club since 2008 to do so.

The 2019 Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC season was the club's fifth year of existence, and their fifth season in the Western Conference of the United Soccer League Championship, the second tier of the United States Soccer Pyramid.

The 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup was the 107th edition of the U.S. Open Cup, a knockout cup competition in American soccer. After the 2020 and 2021 competitions were suspended and ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Soccer Federation announced that the 2022 edition would run from March to mid-September of that year. The 2022 field features 103 clubs, 71 of them fully professional—both modern-era records.

The 2022 Phoenix Rising FC season was the club's ninth season in the USL Championship and their sixth as Rising FC. The season ran from March 12 thru October 15. For the first time as Phoenix Rising FC, the team failed to make the playoffs.

The 2022 Monterey Bay FC season was the club's first season since their establishment on February 1, 2021. The club made its league debut in the USL Championship as well as its domestic cup debut in the U.S. Open Cup.

The 2022 LA Galaxy II season was the club's 9th season of existence, and their 9th and last season in the USL Championship. From 2023 onwards the team will compete in the MLS Next Pro.

The 2021 Rio Grande Valley FC Toros season was the 6th season for Rio Grande Valley FC Toros in USL Championship (USLC), the second-tier professional soccer league in the United States and Canada.
