The 2025 Chicago Cubs season is the upcoming 154th season of the Chicago Cubs franchise, the 150th in the National League, and the Cubs' 110th season at Wrigley Field. They are members of Major League Baseball's National League Central division.

Previous season

The Cubs finished the 2024 season 83–79 to finish in second place in the Central division, 10 games behind the Brewers. [1] It marked the fourth consecutive season they failed to make the playoffs.

On October 1, 2024, the Cubs fired hitting coach Jim Adduci, first base coach Mike Napoli, and bullpen coach Darren Holmes. [2]

Johnnie B "Dusty" Baker Jr. is an American retired professional baseball outfielder and manager in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for 19 seasons with the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and Oakland Athletics. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for nine different clubs in a 17-year career, spanning from 1996 to 2012. During his playing days, Cairo stood 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and weighed 225 pounds (102 kg) while batting and throwing right-handed. While primarily a second baseman, Cairo was able to play all the infield positions and as a corner outfielder. He was also used for pinch-hitting duties late in his career. He was interim manager for the White Sox in the latter part of the 2022 season as manager Tony La Russa stepped away due to health concerns.

David Ray Roberts, nicknamed "Doc", is a Japanese American professional baseball manager and former outfielder who is the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for five MLB teams over a ten-year career and then coached for the San Diego Padres before being named Dodgers manager in 2016. Although he played for the Boston Red Sox for only part of one season, his most notable achievement as a player was a key stolen base in the 2004 American League Championship Series that extended the Red Sox's postseason, which culminated in a championship in the 2004 World Series. Roberts batted and threw left-handed.
