The men's 400 metres at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships is scheduled to be held on the short track of Omnisport in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, on 7 and 8 March 2025. This will be the 38th time the event is contested at the European Athletics Indoor Championships. Athletes can qualify by achieving the entry standard or by their World Athletics Ranking in the event.
Round 1 is scheduled for 7 March during the morning session. The semi-finals are scheduled for 7 March during the evening session. The final is scheduled for 8 March during the evening session.
The men's 400 metres was contested 37 times before 2025, at every previous edition of the European Athletics Indoor Championships (1970–2023). [2] The 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships will be held in Omnisport Apeldoorn in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. [3] The removable indoor athletics track was retopped for these championships in September 2024. [3]
Christopher Morales Williams of Canada is the world record holder with a time of 44.49 s set in 2024. [4] The European record is 45.05, set by both Thomas Schönlebe of East Germany and Karsten Warholm of Norway, set in 1988 and 2019 respectively. Warholm's time is the current championship record, set at the 2019 championships.

For the men's 400 metres, the qualification period runs from 25 February 2024 until 23 February 2025. [6] Athletes can qualify by achieving the entry standards of 46.20 s indoors or 45.00 s outdoor or by virtue of their World Athletics Ranking for the event.
