Animal led the ceremony with 12 nominations, followed by Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani with 10 nominations, Jawan with 8 nominations, Pathaan with 6 nominations, and 12th Fail with 5 nominations. [4]

Animal won 9 awards, including Best Film and Best Supporting Actor (for Anil Kapoor), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. [5]

The track is composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar. The song was sung by Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali and Caralisa Monteiro, who also penned the phrase "love will find a way..." in the song. The music video of the song featured the film's lead actors Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherji.

The 2005 IIFA Awards, officially known as the 6th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the International Indian Film Academy honoured the best films of 2004 and took place between 9–11 June 2005.

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is an annual festival based in Melbourne founded in 2010. It was previously funded by Victoria State Government. It is presented by Film Victoria, and the provider is chosen through a tender process. The current tender provider is Mind Blowing Films, run by Mitu Bhowmick Lange who is the Festival Director of IFFM. The festival has currently been provided with State Government funding until 2018. The goal of the film festival is to showcase Indian cinema to the Australian audience. The festival has streamed Bollywood films, Indie movies, documentaries, regional cinema from India etc. It also organizes short film competitions, dance competitions and a flag hoisting ceremony since it is during the time of Indian Independence day celebrations in Melbourne.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy family drama directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as a couple with contrasting personalities who decide to live with each other's families for three months before getting married. Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog play their family members.

The 3rd IIFA Utsavam is an awards event that took place at the Etihad Arena, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on 27 September 2024. Rana Daggubati and Teja Sajja have hosted the Telugu segment. Pearle Maaney and Sudev Nair have hosted the Malayalam segment. Akul Balaji and Vijay Raghavendra have hosted the Kannada segment. Sathish and Divya Menon were later announced as the hosts for the Tamil segment. The nominations were announced on 21 August 2024.
