The People's Liberation Ground Force Army Aviation Academy normally called the Army Aviation Academy (MOE: 91010) is the main officer and NCO training establishment of the Chinese PLA Army Aviation, and provides helicopter training to the PLAAF, PLAN and PAP. [1] [2] It is a deputy-corps grade institution, based in Taihu town, Tongzhou district of Beijing. [3]
The academy has four campuses in three provincial jurisdictions (including its central campus in Beijing). [8] Center on teaching training. Teaching training basically includes two types of training: flight training (for air service) and ground training (for ground support), integrating the three major areas of command, flight, and aircraft maintenance. [1]
Since 2006, the academy has enrolled gaokao students (recent high school graduates). The basic program is a four-year course, including the "2+2" training model, in which new recruits spend the first two years in general education at the PLA National Defense Science and Technology University, and the last two years of specialized training at the Army Aviation Academy.
