The AHF Asian Women's Handball Championship is a biennial continental handball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of Asian Handball Federation (AHF). Since 2018, it also includes teams from Oceania. The competition also serves as a qualifying tournament for the IHF World Women's Handball Championship.
The current champion is Japan, which won its 2nd title at the 2024 tournament.

The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Asia. It has 44 member countries, mostly located on the Asian continent, but excludes the transcontinental countries with territory in both Europe and Asia – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russian Federation and Turkey – which are instead members of European Handball Federation (EHF). Three other states located along the western fringe of Asia – Cyprus, Armenia and Israel – are also EHF members. Hong Kong and Macau, although not independent countries, are also members of the AHF.
The Asian Women's Youth Handball Championship is the official competition for youth women's national handball teams of Asia, organised under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. It takes place every two years. In addition to crowning the Asian champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Women's Youth World Handball Championship.

Handball in Kuwait was founded by Sheikh Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is a member of House of Sabah, the ruling family of Kuwait. He was also the first President of KHA.
The 2022 Asian Youth Beach Handball Championship will be 2nd edition of the championship to be held from 22 to 28 March 2022 at Tehran, Iran under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation (AHF). It will be first time in history that the championship will be organised by IR Iran Handball Federation. It also acts as a qualification tournament for the 2022 Youth Beach Handball World Championship, with the two teams in each gender from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be hosted by Greece. The participants should be born between 1 January, 2004 and 31 December, 2006.

It was the second time in history that the championship will be organised by the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF). It also acted as a qualification tournament for the 2023 Men's Junior World Handball Championship, with top four teams from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be jointly hosted by Germany and Greece.
