Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda is an Indian politician who served as the 11th prime minister of India from 1 June 1996 to 21 April 1997. He was previously the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996. He presently is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Karnataka. He is the national president of the Janata Dal (Secular) party. Born in a farming family, he joined the Indian National Congress party in 1953, and remained a member until 1962. He was imprisoned during the Emergency. He became President of the state unit of Janata Dal in 1994, and was considered to be a driving force in the party's victory in Karnataka. He served as the 8th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996. In the 1996 general elections, no party won enough seats to form a government. When the United Front, a coalition of regional parties, formed the central government with the support of the Congress, Deve Gowda was unexpectedly chosen to head the government and was elected Prime Minister. During his tenure as prime minister, he also served as Home Minister for some time. His prime ministerial tenure lasted for less than a year. After his prime ministerial tenure, he was elected to the 12th (1998), 14th (2004), 15th, and 16th Lok Sabha, as Member of Parliament for the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. He lost Lok Sabha elections in 2019 from Tumkuru but has been elected to Rajya Sabha since.

He was also the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 2013 to 2014. He is currently the president of the Karnataka State Janata Dal (Secular). He was a member of Lok Sabha and the current member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Channapatna since 2018, Ramanagara from 2004 to 2009 and from 2013 to 2018. He is the son of former prime minister of India & former Chief Minister of Karnataka H. D. Deve Gowda.

He is currently serving as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary board committee since 17 August 2022, termed as the highest office of authority in the party. He served as the 13th Chief Minister of Karnataka, and he was former Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly between 1983 - 2022 in different timelines. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is also the only politician so far in Karnataka to have served four times as the Chief Minister and three times as the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He is the longest serving BJP Chief Minister of Karnataka. He is former MLA from Shikaripura constituency in Shimoga district, from where he has been elected eight times.
Jagadish Shivappa Shettar is an Indian politician, who served as the 15th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2012 to 2013. He is currently serving as Member of Karnataka Legislative Council. He has subsequently served as Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He also served as the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly during 2008–2009. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier in 2023 he had joined the Indian National Congress, where he quit the BJP on being denied the MLA ticket in 2023. He represented Hubli-Dharwad Central Vidhan Sabha seat, which he resigned in 2023 before the elections. In March 2024, he was announced as the BJP candidate from the Belgaum Constituency for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
M. Shivanna was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Chamarajanagar constituency of Karnataka and was a member of the Janata Dal (Secular) political party. He was a member of National Commission for Scheduled Castes from 14 November 2010, later became the chairman of the same body till June 2014. He was president of Mysore district Youth Congress from 1977 till 1980 and became its general secretary in 1980. He won 2004 Indian general elections from Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency as a Janata Dal (Secular) candidate and remained in Janata Dal (Secular) as a Member of Parliament till 2008 vote of confidence in the Manmohan Singh ministry where he voted for the Government and was expelled from the Party for cross voting as violating the whip. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 27 March 2017 in presence of B. S. Yediyurappa.

Laxman Sangappa Savadi is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 12 May 2023. He served as the 8th Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka from 20 August 2019 to 28 July 2021, in the Fourth BS Yediyurappa ministry. He was ex Deputy Leader of the House in Karnataka Legislative Council. He had served as the Minister for Cooperation in the Second B.S.Yeddurappa Ministry and D. V. Sadananda Gowda Government. He was elected to the legislative assembly from Athani constituency in 2004, 2008 and 2013 as a BJP candidate. On 20 August 2019 he was inducted as the Cabinet Minister in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa. On 17 February 2020 he was elected as an MLC by securing 113 votes out of the 120 votes polled.

He served as Minister for Water Resources and major and medium irrigation from 2008 to 2013, Home Affairs, Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperation between 2019 and 2021 minister in charge of Haveri and Udupi districts from 2019 to 2021.

A member of the Siddi Tribe, he is the first Indian legislator of African descent. In the year 2021 Shantaram Budna Siddi won Sant Eshwer Sewa Samman 2021 for their Social Service and Sewa in the Field of Tribal Development and Education.
Channabasappa Mahalingappa Udasi (1937–2021) was an Indian politician from Karnataka, who was once with Janata Dal, and later with Bharatiya Janata Party at the time of his death. He joined BJP in 2004. Later he had left BJP briefly and joined Yediyurappa's Karnataka Janata Paksha in 2013.

Chandrakant Bellad is the former member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly and an Indian Politician. He first contested 1983 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections as a Janata Party candidate from Dharwad Assembly constituency and lost by a wafer thin margin of 132 votes against S. R. Morey of Indian National Congress. Later he defeated the same candidate and emerged victorious in 1985 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections. He unsuccessfully contested against then 3-time Indian National Congress MP D. K. Naikar from Dharwad North Lok Sabha constituency during 1991 Indian general elections. Despite not having any BJP MLA from then Dharwad district, Chandrakant Bellad gave a close fight by getting 29% votes which was just 22,209 less than D. K. Naikar. He was elected to Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1994 and 1999. He also represented Hubli-Dharwad West from 2008 to 2013. He was the President of Border Area Development Authority from 2008 to 2013. He announced retirement from active politics before 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections.
