The 1989 Sudirman Cup was the first tournament of the World Mixed Team Badminton Championships, the Sudirman Cup. It was held from May 24 to May 29, 1989, in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.
The 1994 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 18th tournament of the Thomas Cup, and the 15th tournament of the Uber Cup, which are the major international team competitions in world badminton.
Moosa Ghazi was a Pakistani footballer who played as a left winger. A former captain, Ghazi represented the Pakistan national football team in the 1960s, and was member of the national squad which finished finalists at the 1962 Merdeka Tournament. Considered as one of the earliest legends in Pakistan football history, he was renowned for his performances at the wing and goalscoring abilities.
Badminton was one of the few main sports to be inaugurated at the 1959 SEAP Games. The events were held in Bangkok, Thailand from 12 to 17 December 1959. Due to the team events being cancelled, only two competitions were held, which were men singles and in men doubles. Only Thailand, Burma and Laos took part in the events.
Istana Tyersall is a demolished historical palace that used to be in the former Tyersall Park bound by Holland Road and Tyersall Road near the Singapore Botanic Gardens in Singapore. The land it was formerly built on is currently restricted from the public.
Alkaff Gardens was a Japanese-style park once located east of the Bidadari Cemetery from 1930 to 1964, on the present site of Cedar Girls' Secondary School at Bidadari, Singapore. In the 1930s, the park was a popular leisure destination for dating couples and families. It featured as its centrepiece an artificial lake, which was drained in 1964.
Monwar Hossain Nannu was a Bangladeshi football player during the 1970s and early 1980s. Initially, he played as an attacking midfielder for Abahani Krira Chakra in Dhaka League. Following an injury in the mid-1970s, he moved to the central defender position and excelled in that position as well. He was a member of Bangladesh's first national football team.
The Pre-Olympic tournaments of the Asian Qualifiers for the 1984 Summer Olympic were held from 12 August 1983 to 29 April 1984. Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Qatar qualified.
The Iran national badminton team represents Iran in international badminton team competitions. The national team of Iran is administered by the Iran Badminton Federation.
Enayetur Rahman Khan is a former Bangladeshi footballer who played as a striker. He holds the record of scoring Bangladesh national team's first-ever international goal, which came in a 2–2 draw against Thailand during the country's inaugural competitive game in 1973. He scored 90 goals in the Dhaka League during his more than a decade-long career.
The 1976 Sabah state election was held between Monday, 5 April and Saturday, 14 April 1976. Mohammad Amin was a Pakistani international footballer who played as right winger, and manager. He served as captain of the Pakistan national football team at the 1964 Summer Olympics qualification, and is one of the players to have played and coached the national team. He also played for Selangor in Malaya and Pakistan Air Force at club level. He won the Malaysia Cup twice with Selangor.
