Belcher Bay is a bay at Kennedy Town on the northwest shore of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is located east of Sulphur Channel. The bay is named after Edward Belcher,a Nova Scotia-born British naval officer who surveyed the surrounding water and land in the Victoria Harbour in 1841. Green Island and Little Green Island are located within the bay.
It is currently used as a site for larger ships to load and unload goods between barges instead of mooring along docks.
In 2019,Belcher Bay Promenade opened in phases. However,due to a plan to build a road connecting western Hong Kong Island to the northeastern part of Lantau Island,land reclamation in front of the promenade would be necessary and would require the closure of the area for five years. [1]

The area of Hong Kong is distinct from Mainland China,but is considered a part of "Greater China".
Peng Chau is a small island located off the north-eastern coast of Lantau Island,Hong Kong. It is known locally for its temples,fishing industry and seafood.
Lantau Island is the largest island in Hong Kong,located West of Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula,and is part of the New Territories. Administratively,most of Lantau Island is part of the Islands District of Hong Kong. A small northeastern portion of the island is located in the Tsuen Wan District.
Tsing Yi,sometimes referred to as Tsing Yi Island,is an island in the urban area of Hong Kong,to the northwest of Hong Kong Island and south of Tsuen Wan. With an area of 10.69 km2 (4.13 sq mi),the island has extended drastically by reclamation along almost all its natural shore and the annexation of Nga Ying Chau (牙鷹洲) and Chau Tsai. Three major bays or harbours,Tsing Yi Lagoon,Mun Tsai Tong and Tsing Yi Bay (青衣灣) in the northeast,have been completely reclaimed for new towns.
Discovery Bay (DB) is a resort town on Lantau Island,Hong Kong. It consists of mixed,primarily residential,development,in particular upmarket residential development and private and public recreational facilities,including garden houses,low-,mid- and high-rise residential developments,a 27-hole golf course,an ice rink,a 262-berth marina,two clubhouses,the first private manmade beach in Hong Kong,international schools,two shopping malls and the largest oceanfront alfresco dining area in Hong Kong.
Yam O is a bay located on the northeast shore of Lantau Island,in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It is part of the Ma Wan constituency of the Tsuen Wan District Council.
Penny's Bay or Chok Ko Wan is a bay in north-eastern Lantau Island,and had been a port since the Ming dynasty. The bay has since been reclaimed and is the site of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort,which consists of the Hong Kong Disneyland theme park,Disneyland Hotel,and Disney's Hollywood Hotel,and the Inspiration Lake. During the COVID-19 pandemic,it became home to Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre. It is connected by a highway and a rail connection on the MTR Disneyland Resort line to Sunny Bay station.
The Our Lady of Joy Abbey is a monastery at Tai Shui Hang (大水坑),on Lantau Island in the New Territories,Hong Kong. It is home to a number of Roman Catholic monks of the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance,or Trappists. It was originally named the "Trappist Haven Monastery",because it was founded by refugee monks from the Our Lady of Consolation Abbey and Our Lady of Joy Abbey.
Sai Wan,also known as Western district,or simply Western, is an area in Hong Kong Island,Hong Kong that corresponds to Sai Ying Pun,Shek Tong Tsui,Belcher Bay and Kennedy Town. However,Some Hong Kong people consider Kennedy Town as the only part of Sai Wan. It formed part of the City of Victoria. West Point,a former cape where major government structures in Sai Wan are close to,also used to refer to Sai Wan.
Sai Wan Ho (simplified Chinese:西湾河;traditional Chinese:西灣河;Jyutping:sai1 waan1 Ho4) is a primarily residential area on the northeastern shore of Hong Kong Island,Hong Kong,between Quarry Bay and Shau Kei Wan. It is part of the Eastern District,and is administered together with surrounding areas under the Eastern District Council.
Ngong Ping is a highland in the western part of Lantau Island,Hong Kong. It hosts Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Buddha amidst the hills which is about 34 m tall. There are several hills nearby which are also an attraction to tourists. It is now the terminus of the cable car ride Ngong Ping 360 which travels to Tung Chung. New facilities and tourist attractions have opened including the Ngong Ping Village,Walking with the Buddha,the Monkey's Tale Theatre and Ngong Ping Tea House. A youth hostel is located near the monastery. The second highest peak of Hong Kong,Lantau Peak,is at its southeast.
Chi Ma Wan is a bay on southeastern Lantau Island,New Territories,Hong Kong. Chi Ma Wan Peninsula is where Chi Ma Wan,as well as Cheung Sha Wan,Tai Long Wan,Yi Long Wan and Mong Tung Wan are located. The Peninsula is located within the boundaries of Lantau South Country Park.
North Lantau Highway is an expressway forming part of Hong Kong's Route 8,linking Hong Kong International Airport and Lantau Island with the rest of the territory. The road has three lanes in each direction for its entire length with full-width hard shoulders for emergencies and breakdowns. The speed limit is 110 kilometres per hour (68 mph) for most of its length,the highest of any road in Hong Kong.
Penny's Bay Highway is a section of expressway on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The road links North Lantau Highway to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre in Penny's Bay. It is approximately 1.5 km,starting from the North Lantau Highway's junction in Yam O and ending at Penny's Bay to link with Magic Road and Sunny Bay Road.
Kau Yi Chau,also known as Tai Kau Yi Chau,is an uninhabited island located west of Victoria Harbour,between Peng Chau and Green Island in Hong Kong. It is located on the crossroad of sea routes,east to west and north to south. The ferry between Central and Mui Wo sails close to the south of the island. Administratively it is part of Islands District.
The Grand Promenade is a luxury high-rise residential development located at 38 Tai Hong Street,Sai Wan Ho,Hong Kong Island,Hong Kong. It is developed by Henderson Land Development and its subsidiary,The Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry Co Ltd. in 2005.
Disneyland Resort Pier is located at the south of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort,Penny's Bay,Lantau Island,Hong Kong,with about 15-minute walking distance from Disneyland Resort station. It is a public pier for use by private vessels,yachts as well as tour vessels 24-hour free-of-charge.
Luk Keng Village or Luk Keng Tsuen is a village located on the Yam O peninsula on Lantau Island in the New Territories of Hong Kong,which links to Cheung Sok,a nearby uninhabited island,via a sandbank. Although nearby areas including Sunny Bay station have been developed,Luk Keng Village is still preserved as an undeveloped rural heritage area.
Ta Shui Wan was a bay in Yam O,Lantau Island,New Territories,Hong Kong,located between Tai Yam Teng (大陰頂) and Ngong Shuen Au (昂船凹). The bay was reclaimed to construct MTR Sunny Bay station.
Lantau Tomorrow Vision,also known as the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands,is a development project in Hong Kong proposed by the previous two Chief Executives of Hong Kong. The previous Chief Executive Carrie Lam proposed in her 2018 policy address which includes the creation of a third core business district by constructing artificial islands with a total area of about 1,700 hectares through massive land reclamation near Kau Yi Chau and Hei Ling Chau of the eastern waters of Lantau Island. The project has met with controversy and opposition for its high cost of estimated HK$580 billion –amounting to half of the city's fiscal reserves,as well as environmental concerns.
