The 1974 Bexley Council election took place on 2 May 1974 to elect members of Bexley London Borough Council in London, England. The whole council was up for election and the Conservative party gained overall control of the council. [1]

Bexley London Borough Council is the local authority for the London Borough of Bexley in the ceremonial county of Greater London, England. It is one of 32 London borough council in the county. The council comprises 45 councillors.

Thamesmead is a district in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Bexley. It is located 11 miles (18 km) east of Charing Cross, mainly consisting of social housing built from the mid-1960s onwards on former marshland on the south bank of the River Thames, northeast of Woolwich and west of Belvedere.
