Tower Hamlets London Borough Council is the local authority for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in Greater London, England. The council is unusual in that its executive function is controlled by a directly elected mayor of Tower Hamlets, currently John Biggs.

They also have five Members of the Scottish Parliament and a member each in the Welsh Assembly and London Assembly. The party reached the height of its influence in the early 2010s, forming a junior partner in a coalition government from 2010 to 2015. It is presently led by Vince Cable.

Tower Hamlets is located in East London and covers much of the traditional East End.
Millwall is a district of east London, England, on the southwestern side of the Isle of Dogs, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It lies to the immediate south of Limehouse and Poplar, which includes part of the Canary Wharf estate, and has a long shoreline along London's Tideway, part of the River Thames.
